Anybody on child support?

question for you. how do you handle finances in your situation? do you put everything in one pot including child support. i told my wife that i prefer the child support be used for her kids. school lunch, they need clothes, start a college fund for them, etc. She wants everything to go in one pot

There are still some cards that can play out in my case. Per our divorce decree, we switch years for who claims them on taxes. Well, their last two years of high school, I'm going to inquire about going to court so that for the last two years of high school, neither of us claim them. Reason being is that for student loans, our (my) income isn't counted for FAFSA. They get to load up on grants and scholarships and other sorts of free money. My ex is like, I need to the money. She's a tax-time baller. The other card to play? During their senior year, go to court so that the child support can be placed in some holding account so that they can use it for whatever upon graduating. Nothing really trying to hurt my ex but think back, when you were a senior in high school, did you really need much outside of food? I was barely at the crib. I was at my job, playing basketball and chasing girls. Daily double was my meal all day. So, that is what I want to do.

Real talk though, I don't mind giving the money out, I'm used to it. There should be a child support PO officer though. Really deadass serious. If you cut a big check, there needs to be some tangible results out of it.

Would y'all recommend getting your own lawyer or just going straight down to the family court if you wanted to put yourself on child support.

Sometimes its best to take this route...can't deal with the harassment, slander, and lies anymore. I hope the courts can regulate this.

Definitely get a lawyer if you have the bread. You could work out an agreement with a mediator if money is tight but just get something on paper in the court system or notarized right away. People think because you're cool for a couple months shyt is all good but things can get fukked up real fast.

Like Rawtid said, you just need to get something in the system. If you've been paying out of pocket with cash, you may have cost yourself. Money Orders work, checks work until you get it official. Court system ain't loyal either breh.

Yeah get something on paper asap. Make sure to include visitation. If you can, try to pay for specific costs like medical or daycare. You could also toss some cash in an account with your kids name that she cant touch. That way no money goes directly to her if you are afraid she will mishandle it.

Also, paying child support ≠ visitation as well. She can not deny you your rights as a father and visitation. I'm pretty sure that your state has a child support calculator that you can get a rough estimate on things as well. Time to learn the rules of the non-custodial in your state breh.

go to family court and let the shyt come out your account so wont be no issues. cuz u paying yourself always turns into problems cuz she be like you aint paying enough when u think u are then court makes u pay more so just let them decide that themselves of course try to get lowest amount possible

my wife baby daddy owes 6,000 in child support and can still see her even though he doesn't but when he randomly shows up we have to let him see her cuz last time we use that in court they didnt care he was suppose to jail for not paying didnt happen so were like

but luckily he dont come around really
