Anyone else hate that Joe Budden will be just remembered as media personality?

I’ve been on the internet for about 25 years and the booth is the only place I’ve seen so many ppl who stan him…and I’m not talking about those who simply enjoy his music…you got folks who seem to get offended when folks aren’t in agreement with how highly they rate his music :lolbron:
Arent most fans like that? If someone said Nas wasn't a top 10 rapper would people not get offended? I personally dont really care about people having Budden in their top 10 like I do. I understand its not a opinion that's the norm. The point of my post was about a great rapper being more associated with being in media then rapping. Maybe in the big picture its not a bad thing. :yeshrug:

perhaps teenage fans…anyway I cant speak for “most” fans in general…no one really can…but speaking for myself as a fan of nas’ music, I wouldn’t/don’t care how others rank his music…what I can say tho is there’s a big difference between a “fan” and a “stan” which is why I used “stan”…re: the bold, my post wasn’t about how ppl rate his music but how they react when others don’t agree…it’s one thing to like his music, but what sets the stans I’ve only seen on here apart is the way they become defensive when others don’t hold his music career as highly…and that was my primary observation—that this is the first place where I’ve seen a good number of joe budden stans who act like that…not interested in debating if stanning is “normal” behavior for most fans

It's called being wack.

Nah but seriously.

Buddens is kinda like Eminem to me. Definitely got a mean pen, but just doesn't grab me

I agree. Im all good with good hip hop debate for the sport of it but ultimately it comes down to preference. Theres def a big difference between fan and stan. Eminem has the most crazy stans in hip hop ( ironic since Em created the term). I remember a white dude on Facebook telling me aint know hip hop cause I said MGK won the battle. I had to set him straight real quick .

I mean, that's 100% his own decision so :manny:

after his bullshyt reaction to the Crooked & Joell album I stopped following his media career. He's a hypocrite who let's himself get away with the shyt he criticizes other people for. Also, can people now admit that he was never gonna start rapping again, despite what he was saying with Royce when Crook & Joell dropped their "Rise & Fall of Slaughterhouse" album?

Still probably one of my all time favorite artists, but seems like an impossible person to work with or to be friends with.

I always got arrogant vibes from him, but his actual catalog is piff, when you sit down and listen to it.

I think the difference is that certain type of arrogance is kinda expected if you're an artist but when you're "only" a podcaster it's mainly just annoying.

Joe retired and switched into a different lane.. it happens. Most rappers have a short window of time so it's best to invest into small businesses and side ventures.

Thank god that Budden didnt get typecasted as just the "Pump It Up" rapper either.

Kids need to listen to his old stuff.
