Anyone else hate that Joe Budden will be just remembered as media personality?

I’d rather be remembered as a media personality than a damn rapper :russ:

Who is more talked about outside of a random message board 3x a year? The other Slaughterhouse members of Budden?

Who is more culturally relevant? 90% of the other artist that came our around Buddens time or him?

Outside of Shaderoom posts once in awhile because he was spotted with Ashanti, wtf is a Nelly doing?

I see the world talking Cam and Mase because…they have a media sports show now.

I ain’t heard Gillie the Kid name this much since 2004 mixtapes, and he seem to be living his best life having a blast.

Unless you JayZ or Drake, rap is a short term thing (mainstream wise). Better get your Snoop/Cube/Ye/Wiz/Cam/Budden

Ironically, other genres are mainly remembered for their artistic output...with few exceptions of course. So perhaps rap is a gimmicky hustle genre after all

Nah his tracks Calm Down and Walk With Me were the most memorable. He was on that pain music back pre- pump it up most ppl know him for. MM mixtapes still have replay value.

he chose this path - he wants you to remember him as media personality :manny:

he stopped making music and has been doing podcasts/shows for over a decade now :manny:

and looking at his current life, he seems happy - and considering he doesn't pay his employees, he's doing good money off it as well :manny:

I still listen to his music, i don't watch as much of his podcasts since i don't have the time to watch a 2 to 3 hours shows like that, just the clips.

Say you didnt listen to anything beyond the singles without saying you didnt listen:beli:

I admit he lost me at Pump it up..its lots of rappers so you only get one chance.
Next time I heard his voice again he was insulting Prodigy and Method Man.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy for his success but it sucks that history will remember him as a media guy and not an MC. I personally believe Joe Budden is an all time great and made some of the most emotionally driven personal music hip hop has ever seen. Just kinda sucks his impact on the game will be remembered as media guy
:beli:

I personally believe Jay Electronica is one the greatest stories in Rap...I'll be okay, so will you...
