Just replace the addiction with working out and transition it to a hobby or goal

easier said than done...tried that before

it’s been easier for me to stop/drastically limit my drinking now tho bcuz I simply just don’t want to anymore...it’s like a switch just turned off in my head...even tho I only had one beer last nite...I didn’t even enjoy it

I’m one of those people who could drink once a year. I just don’t crave it. I do smoke loud though. I want my vices to be calorie-free

Don’t deny yourself the drink. But ALSO keep that thought in your head of how it makes you feel and slowly but surely you will pull yourself away completely by loving yourself and gradually finding things that benefit you and your future self. That is not harmful to your mind and body.

it’s not a “denial”

you not hearing me

the urge to drink literally just left me

I have no real desire to do it

I had one beer out of habit for the fight and barely finished it

I’m not seeking advice

I’m telling the OP how/why I stopped for the most part

I’m just about there. I don’t really crave it and drinking it makes you body produce more estrogen

You are on the right path then.

Don't look back.

ya man I’m too old for the shyt

I had some company plus the fight was decent

typically a nite like that I would’ve probably stayed up all nite drinking

and literally gone too sleep a couple hours ago

I’m just done w/ that shyt

that lifestyle just isn’t fun anymore

then my sleep hours get fukked up for a few days

and I have to force myself to stay up for 24 hours to “recalibrate” my sleeping pattern

later for that shyt

man everything I said in here got erased once COVID hit

not to use it as an excuse but being in the house more and the state of things gave me an excuse to start drinking again...anyway I haven’t had a drink for 2+ weeks now :yeshrug:
