Like any entitled/childish mentality, without consequences there's little point to the exercise. Her mistake is couching enforcement of standards as censorship. That's a different thing entirely.

How so:jbhmm:she doesn’t lie about anything or engage in Incendiary rhetoric

People are involved, and their built-in flaws. If any ruling government can decide arbitrarily what lies and incendiary rhetoric are, then there are no real rules...it's just people making things up as they go along according to their feels. Maybe she hasn't done that yet, but she's prone to it as anybody else.

That's the whole point of professional standards. They're not perfect but they're meant to be a check on normal human pettiness/selfishness/greed. Teach critical thinking, social responsibility and basic finance in elementary schools and Fox or whoever else would have no fertile ground to spawn in, people would simply laugh them out of any public space as they should have been from the beginning.

Congress writing a new Fairness Doctrine that would include social media and online news sites that states (just like the original FD) that they have to "present controversial issues of public importance and do so in a manner that is honest, equitable, and balanced" would cover all that.

Also the idea that doing something to curb the rampant and blatant lies from the media would further radicalize the already insanely radical isn't a strong enough argument for me.

That is similar to the Congressional Republicans argument yesterday that impeaching Trump again would incite the same group that already raided the Capitol to behave badly. It's far too late to try to appease that group of domestic terrorists.
The issue of the capital siege is an entirely different animal, their argument is to avoid consequences to placate people rather than hold the people responsible for that fiasco accountable, that's entirely wrong, it would be like forgoing the Nuremburg trials to keep the Germans happy after WWII. They committed crimes and must be punished.

What i'm saying is everyone has the right to dissention, its a principal our nation is founded on and regardless of how its implemented, simply saying "You can't say XYZ" is going to play right into their hands and further radicalize people, you can't censor private groups and in their web forums, facebook groups, meme pages, and other platforms they will continue to grow and radicalize.

There needs to be a cultural shift on how the average person processes and shares information, which is something that can't be done with kneejerk sweeping policies

People don't watch TV anymore, bringing back the Fairness Doctrine wouldn't do anything but further radicalize the right in their "fake news" crusade. There's no one answer to this hole we've dug ourselves in, it's going to take something a lot more comprehensive than that and a cultural shift on how information is processed and shared person to person.
That’s why this “fake news” thing Trump and them started kinda worked in his favor. People be saying they don’t watch the news, meanwhile be out here mad AF when some bullshyt gets passed into law or when their landlord made a deal to sell their apartment complex or some shyt. I’ve seen so many people say they don’t watch the news but even mad when some shyt happens and it’s too late to do anything about it by the time the people find out. Like somebody else in the thread already said we are probably too far gone now to change anything that’s happening with media. I mean you have people that will believe a random Twitter account with the V for Vendetta mask as a profile over the news... It’s sick out here.

She's so hot.

That being said, this aint a perfect idea.
I mean... we won’t really know how good it is until the present something. But anything that overtly censors the media is not a good idea and most like won’t make it very far.

The comment about requiring sources is actually a good idea. It’s a good “backdoor” way to address the issue. Then make it a crime to communicate news without sources and make the burden of proof reasonable so you don’t get frivolous lawsuits.

There used to be something called the fairness doctrine. Once they removed that, that is when things like Rush Limbaugh, right-wing talk radio, and all sorts of shyt started to pop-up

FCC fairness doctrine - Wikipedia

Conservatives lobbied against it because they thought the major news networks were a threat. Nixon especially was paranoid about the "Jews" and "Liberals" who ran the press in his mind.
