could NEVER go back

was paying 950 for a 2 bedroom in a really nice town while i stacked (this is NJ, pricey) but ended up getting a 4 bedroom house for a fixed 1025 mortgage. should have just made the leap sooner i couldnt stand the neighbors and the maintenance dept was :birdman:

theres nothing like owning a home, yea theres a ton of things to keep tabs on but the feeling is :ahh:
idk, doesnt really make sense to own a home at our age unless you have a wife or kids. you got a family?

I prefer noise to having a quiet place, the one thing I hate though is lugging my shyt to the laundromat :to:

Forget having an in unit wash, I'd be thrilled to have an in building wash.

married with no kids

for the extra 100 a month i got to have my name on it, i know we never truly 'own' it until its paid off but its better than writing a check to a property mgmt company every month. plus my wife had battled homelessness as a kid, it was really special to give her a place of her own with a full kitchen

If you mve into certain neighborhoods even as homeowner you got to adhere to certain rules.

Some apartments have garages and private driveways, reserved parking spots. etc.

we really dont have shyt like that in the city. once u are in a crib, you basically can do what u want. for instance, there's no permit parking on my street, so anyone can park in front of my house all day. not that I care, since I have a big ass garage, and don't even use my front door anyways.

shrugs shoulders ive lived in 3 apartments in my life all of them did:manny:

same, depends on your price range alot of the time

im tired of living in apartments too but i just figure im blessed to be able to be in the situation im in and its just something i gotta deal with til im in the position to move up in the world

there is always gonna be something wrong, i've learned that in the few years i've lived in a couple diff apartments. plus im in the md/dc area so a single is at minimum around 1200. used to be in virginia and a double was like 900 :to:

IDK

ITs def better to own than to rent, for the same monthly payment

But even w/a condo you have the damn maintenance fees. Maintenance on a house can be :merchant: but there are a lot of newly built houses that won't have issues for too long. So you can kind of cheat the system. Theres no reason anything in a 10 yr old house should have to be replaced

I hated my old apartment. I lived next to these indian folks who would have the entire side of my complex funky ass hell from that shyt they were cooking(then theyd leave their front door open whenever they cooked). I also work late so i never had a parking space when i got off work. Bought my house last year and never looked back. i grew up doing lawn work so cutting my own grass aint a big deal to me. Plus im handy around the house so i dont mind fixing my own shyt when i can.

Blackwood, Camden County

my parents looked in Mercer before going into middle Burlington Co, in this market you should be good w/ that range. never pay for closing costs if you dont have to finding a quality realtor can save you a TON of money. that varies from listing-to-listing but always look for someone who will negotiate and go to bat not just caving in to what the seller wants

the townhouses around the corner from me allow my dog and have space to plug up a washer and dryer. you gotta bring your own washer and dryer. i'm considering moving there. realistically i could afford a house but i'm too lazy to keep up my own maintenance / yard work.

my rent here is $400 a month. it'll go up to $549 a month for that townhouse with two bed rooms one of which i don't need but fukk it. i want my own washer and dryer.
