Apocalypse Now is one of the GREATEST films ever made. But for you niccas saying it's EASILY better than Saving Private Ryan???

That movie was so bananas, WWII vets got up and walked out after that Normandy scene.

Couldn't take it
Normandy scene was one of the most well done scenes in cinema history

I haven’t seen AN is quite some time. I need to revisit it.

can’t complain about the runtime it’s about the same as GoodFellas...obviously much differently paced

Apocalypse Now easily.

Beyond the opening scene, Saving Private Ryan was basically a Tom Hanks going to war flick.

Meanwhile, everything from the behind the scenes shyt all the way to the entire length of Apocalypse Now is a war in itself :picard:.

You seen what war was doing to them dudes especially Martin Sheen who had no emotions because he was so deep in the shyt, it became a obsession to get Brando. This scene alone shyts all over SPR:

"Hey soldier....Do you know who's in command here":dwillhuh:

"Yeah":skip:

Apocalypse now for my money is the GOAT film

It's not a film about Vietnam its a film about alienation and post-industrial America set in Vietnam and we're still learning these hard lessons today :wow:

This summer finna eat a half zip of shrooms for my annual viewing :banderas: I've seen horrors :huhldup:

Far out:wow:

If we are talking realism, both have scenes that depict the warfare of the era but I would still place SPR over Apocalyse. Mainly because it stayed rooted in its bounds throughout. Apoc just got bizarre and unrealistic the closer you got to the end.

But Apocalypse now is much more than a war film, it’s based off of heart of darkness, but they just decided to use Vietnam was the metaphor for the film
