Me too. Platoon might be my favorite film, period. I saw it way too early. 4th grade

We watched Platoon at age 15 I think at my school? Great fukking film.

I have always had an issue with SPR. The translator ruined that movie for me. I can't rewatch it cause he's such a p*ssy and the reason why the jew dude died. I have never been so heated at a character in film.

I like SPR but it feels more like an action flick for Hanks whereas AN really goes into depth on the psychological battle war plays on all who engage in it

AN is better but really i dont like either movie today. platoon and come and see are far better war movies.

Can't really compare these two. A better comparison would probably be Saving Private Ryan and Flags of Our Father's or Hacksaw Ridge.

Best Vietnam War movie IMO is Platoon which also happens to be in my top three favorite movies of all time.

Apocalypse Now is not a typical war movie which made it so great
My favorite military or war movie is Glory
