There are plenty of terrible suburban neighborhoods in New York and plenty of really upscale urban ones, and it was like that even before the hypergentrification of NYC

Hell naw. Most people don't want to raise a family in apartment buildings or a rowhouse with someone right next to them with no space.

Queens Brooklyn the Bronx and Staten Island all have thousands of single family detached homes.

Not everyone lives in a 6 floor walk up with fire escapes

I wouldn't even want to live downtown and I also wouldn't want to live here without a car.

You got people saying they live in Houston when they're way out in places like Katy and our metro area covers a huge amount of land.

its prolly the same thing as your talking about with those cities(katy) in houston. Altho Wickenburg people I think sometimes don't even consider theemslves being part of PHX because they are so far out.

Even if Hempstead still counts as urban because of all the buildings, you could use Wyandanch, Brentwood, and Mastic as examples too

I used to live in Phoenix. 44th and the 202. The 303 would be most peoples definitation of the end of the Phoenix area
