i think it just has to do with people trying to make up for something else. when you're successful, or talented, you don't have to run your mouth constantly. you let your success speak for itself. now, go talk to some broke ass motherfukker that has nothing going on for them. watch how much they run their worthless mouths. they'll tell you more lies and bullshiit in a few mins then you've ever heard in your entire life. it's like they try to create something that's really not there. seriously, go try it out.
there's a lot of bum rappers that talk up all of the nothings they do to the point that you would think they were doing something, at times these people may even appear to be successful but their efforts are not fruitful. I hear people I know list off exaggerated lists of things that they've done, verbatim like it's their routine whenever introduced to everybody and getting to the point of meeting them. Meanwhile I keep my mouth shut and let them have their shine, I realize "these aren't the people I need to impress . . this isn't the format that I need to impress them in"
It seems that hip-hop doesn't have the attention span or mental capacity to acknowledge media that isn't complimented with a video . . and then y'all wonder why the quality of the music isn't good
How many of these artists you've been hearing about are people that were discovered when you just browsed across their Soundcloud page? Nahh, everybody needs to campaign, build a movement, put together solid videos, on top of staying active getting shows which comes with a caveat of it's own hoops to jump through
^^ now read my posts and look at the way I talk . . look at the way Art Barr talks. These posts are the reflections of our consciousness streamed, he's obviously a very intelligent individual who's retained a lot of information, he's also a recording artist, songwriter, occasional performer. As an example, let's say in his head he might've done everything he set out to accomplish, on the scale that he's satisfied with . . he could very likely look back at his tenure (as a hip-hop artist) as legendary. He might view his body of work as great, 10 years from now he might be looking at a song that you think is garbage now and to him he might even look back on that song 10 years from now like it's flawless and there's nothing he would go back and change about it.
Now C-Stylez? No, never going to happen. He doesn't see any of his work as flawless now or at any point during his creative process. He feels the occasional glimpse of greatness but he's going to be constantly chasing a song that's 'just right', yet he doesn't know what he has to make for it. This song may never materialize because of inability to consult higher expertise. He has all the time in the world to dedicate to his craft but is too stubborn to explore the possibilities that stand before him. Maybe next lifetime
now that crazy muthaphukka observe, he's probably an artist on the low, although music might not be the ambition he holds in highest regard. He's probably got some type of advanced music that can't be pinpointed as any one genre but more of a working medley of a lot of things, combined with a style of lyrics that spell out anagrams, deep flowing poetics mixed with double meanings and psychological triggers that could be scientifically proven to make you feel a different way everything you hear. Regardless of your understanding the music is instantly enjoyable to the ears and full of intoxicating sounds
Some people have thought processes that aren't linear like yours . . .or maybe your one of us too
