Are people asking for too much now? I'm sorry but a $15 minimum wage is still too low...

Soooo I just got negged for saying that a $30 minimum wage was absurd...the fukk:skip:?

And wages should depend on the state. $15 in Alabama is a three bedroom home in a decent neighborhood. Hell, you can live in a gated apartment complex with 3bd/2bath for $775 a month.

A single individual can get by with $12 there, which is what the minimum should be for (the minimum wage needed in order to live in that state.)

Explain to me how you're gonna get by on $12 dollars an hour in Alabama? At least make an effort to do some research.

A lot of y’all are STILL missing the point. It’s not about entry level or rent. Our standard of living should be raised across the board. Wealth inequality in this country is at mind boggling levels. Rich Americans and corporations are richer than ever before but yet wages have been stagnant or regressive. While the cost of living has INCREASED. This is due to president Reagan and deregulation of the free market. Americans didn’t live this way until the 80s
Quoted for emphasis

Here's what I will say. If I'm 18 in an entry-level job, then I should be able to afford a 1-bedroom apt and an used car, with all the other normal bills.

Now the Coli Economists can tell me why that shouldn't happen.

EDIT: I'll define normal bills:
  • apartment
  • used car
  • car insurance
  • water
  • heat/electricity
  • groceries
  • $100/wk left for activities

Anybody siding with the government on the minimum wage debate is a fukkin SELLOUT.

the federal minimum wage been the same my entire life (probably longer) but the cost of everything has gone up.

I don’t care what the job is, burger flipper or whatever, the minimum wage NEEDS to be higher, if you’re a regular citizen you should ALWAYS side with the workers on this debate.

The government getting mad cause we want them to do their fukkin job :mjlol: and y’all siding with them motherfukkers.

With full disrespect fukk anyone who is a class traitor like that I hope y’all die from your own piss

It's the South. I made $10/hr and still lived in an apt and a nice neighborhood. $12/hr I was able to pay rent and have a car.

You clearly haven't done enough research about how money really is in the South.

I live in the south, clearly we define the term "nice" differently. because as I SAID 12hr ain't getting you anything nice in Alabama. 10 bucks yo ass would be lucky to have a shytty studio apt.
