Are people asking for too much now? I'm sorry but a $15 minimum wage is still too low...

If the minimum wage increased on the same level as inflation it would be $22 dollars. But thanks to Reagan and unfettered capitalism it doesn't. There's a lot of people talking out their ass on this issue but the facts are still real and Americans SHOULD be worried.

Income inequality is at an all time high. This isn't due to the economy its ALL greed and a shift of how Americans view free market and capitalism.

The old robber barons were still insanely rich but understood that their workers still need to eat and have homes. They paid a huge amount of taxes and donated tons of money and guess what they were still insanely rich.

These new entrepreneurs and corporations now view the free market as winner take all and shareholders not workers are all that matters. If they can save a penny by shytting on the workers the do it.

Unfettered capitalisms will be Americas downfall. China does the free market way better than America. Its so bad the Chinese realized that these mfs are so greedy they'll sell out their own country and have been using it against us ever since.

This! And I am all for folks minimum wage being raised. But these jokers think the prices of everything else gonna stay the same.

They must think that 1400 1BR price gonna stay the same when minimum wage is 15 bucks...:mjlol:.

Landlords and property managers just gonna increase the rent to 2k or 2200 cause they know folks got more money. :mjlol:
This. Can you nikkas imagine the cost of cars and shyt? We get a $30/hr minimum wage, then nikkas realize that the cost of everything else just skyrocketed in order to meet the sudden influx of money that everyone brought in, all the while, multiple small businesses had to close their doors because they couldn't afford to pay everyone.

Then nikkas are gonna botch about the cost of living nationwide, and either call for a further increase in the minimum wage, or protest the cost of living, which won't change because...well...there's no rule about getting more bang for your buck, no?

Nah, some poor folks are lazy breh I'm telling what I be seeing with my own eyes. Me and my dad was discussing this. I worked at Walmart for 3 years, then left after I got my degree. 3 years later I go there to pick up a few things And it's the same folks, like how are you complacent working a dead end job for 6 years?

You can't expect make a living flipping hamburgers, that job was always meant for teens since the 50s. You want more money get into a warehouse where they pay $22

She right though.
It's not enough.

Lets say you work 40 hours a week. $15 an hour is $600 a week.
And you have a $1400 1 bedroom apartment, with $300 bills.
that's $2400.
Then you got to pay rent
you have $1000 left
Then bills/utilities
you have $700 left.
That $700 isn't going to be all in one lump sum...that's gonna be spreadout over a month and it's gonna get hard to save that.

Actually there's plenty places down south you can leave on $15. You talking about $1400, nikka that's a luxury condo downtown Chicago:mjlol:

Beggars can't be choosers!

If people want a certain level of income, then they need to open up a brick and mortar spot or start an online business.

But with that comes risks. Where will they get their customers/clients from?

If states shut down, then people will lose jobs. If people lose jobs, then they will not spend money.

Point is..

Better get whatever money you can get while you can get it!

This isn't the time to hop on social media talking about what you feel you deserve to get paid. The people who are paying dictate what they will pay, not the other way around.

For those of us who make a livable wage, best to do what you need to do to keep it!

It's gonna get real ugly out there and it is gonna come real fast!

Be ready so you don't have to get ready!

It's so much money out here. Go to community college. Can't pay for it? Get a Pell Grant. Not the college type? Go to trade school, they start you off at $15-$18 as an apprentice. Truck drivers out here making $6k a month. Then there's IT where you studying on your own time and taking tests. I done read dudes getting certs and making $70k within one year

Something weird I’ve always noticed, nobody says shyt about inflation and prices skyrocketing they just hit the :ld: but barley head above water motherfukkers will bring out the pitch forks if you talk about raising the minimum wage:mjlol:

I think I read somewhere that minimum wage should currently be 22/hr to Match inflation and current cost of living. I’m not rich but I’m comfortable and I would never fight to keep another man down:smugdraper:

Bunch of slow nikkas in this thread.. but but but ______ profession/job doesn't even make/pay that much :gucci:

That's EXACLY the fukking problem. That means ______ profession/job is also underpaying.

If you're working 40 hours a week in the richest country in the world(or any developed country), your basic needs should be met regardless of what you do for a living. This really isn't that hard.

Imagine needing burger flippers to start making $15/hr to realize that your employer is raping you.

Imagine blaming poor people for the wage stagnation over the past 40 years.
