Are people asking for too much now? I'm sorry but a $15 minimum wage is still too low...

Some of those tweets are why people consistently vote Republican regardless if someone like a Trump is the candidate. That one chick said she doesn't care if a small business owner can't afford employees at $20 an hour then don't hire anyone. What she doesn't take into consideration is inflation, cutting hours for employees, less small business owners meaning less competition and higher pricing, less businesses meaning less employees meaning more unemployment, etc.

it doesn’t work like this at all

if you’re business is only sustainable because you’re paying people as little as possible then you’re business isn’t helping society at all

No but 7.50 is crazy low even for a high school kid. So you can’t make the argument that these are supposed to be starter part time jobs for kids. I remember making 5.15 at my first job 100 years ago and you mean to tell me it only moved up to 7.50 since then?

:gucci: Reese’s cups have gotten smaller and raised the prices exponentially since 2000 but I’m supposed to still maintain my quality of life? If lame ass business out here squeezing every last penny out of consumers the profits shouldn’t all go straight to the pockets at the top.

Where’s that trickle down economics nikka. When airlines charging $30 for a checked bag, $20 for you to choose your seat, and trimming the seats down every year they shouldn’t be able to get a bailout

in any case, the higher the minimum wage the higher inflation will be. companies and businesses will just raise prices on everything because everybody got money, and then we'll back to square one. better to demand cheaper rent costs and more accessible public transit

60k ain't shyt lmao

Employees should be paid based upon a well the company is doing PERIOD

Because the employees are apart of the companies success

yall nikkaz enabling the greedy with these false notions

Burger flippers should be paid more because these companies are making billions

shyt is slave labors at this point

also you should want them to pay these people more so they more quality people will take these jobs because THEY ARE HANDLING FOOOD

If you knew what really went on in places like this you would kill yourselves

:dwillhuh:50k is around the average income in the US. Teachers don’t even make that much in states. Why should someone with no job skills have an above average income?

Biden got libs feeling themselves

:russ:

15hr is fine for now.

But anyway the common denominator in all these arguments is rent. Its way to high.

Owning a house or two in any major city makes you damn near a millionaire with rent as a good source of cash flow.

This is why I sometimes think minimum wage laws are bad.

Minorities are last hired and first fired and increased wage pressure forces black labor out the paint faster.

and the pressure never stops

In fact there’s credible left arguments that the minimum wage in Puerto Rico may even be too high

Right. Remove single family housing zoning and increase incentives for small single occupancy housing.

This.

Should focus on cutting costs rather than raising wages. Raising wages is a game that you can never really win because of inflation. All it does inevitably is reduce purchasing power.
