it's not "cancel culture", it's my own evolution. I was never much for certain styles of rap, but even less so today, do I want to hear the kind of degradation that certain records contained.

I think the big thing that surprises me is just

A: how crazy some of the shyt was that was on mainstream radio and tv. I mean Eminem had a SINGLE with a MUSIC VIDEO about date raping a girl

B: how frequently artists that weren’t even shock-value types still dropped so many 3-letter/6-letter F words and no one cared.

That shyt made me cringe then too but I listened to the song just got real quiet on that part lol. Now I just skip the whole shyt, I got daughters

I'm not singling him out. Just in my personal life, when i listen to him, I can't separate life from art and it's too uncomfortable.

Maybe if I knew more or there was more heavy evidence on other artists I would feel the same on them.
