lol, I was raised in a Haitian household too and was taught that I need to get married, have kids..no outside babies, no shacking up but If I were to get married I do not want to take an L. That's my biggest fear is divorce. American divorces can financially screw a man. Eventually I do want to but man I am scared of that L.

Who said always? Some do it on their own before they got together and some do it after they got together. Bottom line - to say that "building together" is broke nikka talk and that life don't work that way is just dumb nikka logic.

When both partners are on the same page and playing their roles, they're able to build. Look at Joe Jackson and Katherine Jackson. Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

You said "most of".

Those are 2 examples and I don't consider Joe and Katherine Jackson a good one.

Giving up at a young age because you haven't gotten what you want thus far isn't being practical unless of course you refuse to even try or put in a decent effort.

I guess I see it differently because I’m old. I think it’s realistic to believe you MAY not find a significant other and practical to focus on something else and not let it define you.

I want a good wife and children. However, I want it before my net worth skyrockets. Right now, I am just a lame bettering myself and I want a woman who sees me for who I can become or at the very least genuinely like me for me. Once I start making money and capable of being the sole provider if I chose to, the potential for the L is too great. At that point, the ship has sailed.
