Why did God punished the Egyptian Pharaoh for sleeping with Sarah? He didn't know she was married. Abraham and Sarah were both deceiving. Abraham was going around saying that was his sibling. So why would God give the Pharaoh the plaque and not Abraham? And Abraham was able to get Sarah back and keep the things the Pharaoh gave him?

Ehh. I believe in a higher power but there's a reason that people with higher intellect and who think for themselves always poke holes in religion.

Honestly, on this planet, the life I live as far a debauchery is pretty average as far as humans go. Im a caring dude and I hurt for others when bad things happen. I have goals, dreams, family and ppl I care about just like a religious or Christian person. If I'm damned to hell then theres nothing I can do :yeshrug: but I doubt thats the case.

Real talk, even if I WANTED to believe in a religion, my mind or common sense as some of you put it simply wont let me from my years of learning and research on it.

Yo my brother I respect that you come to a conclusion with your life, you have the option and no man should take that away.

Who said He didn't punish Abraham and Sarah? It's a very interesting that I have never seen brought up, I'll try my best to answer it.

1. What The Bible Says

Genesis 12: 10 - 20

10 Now there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.
11 When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance,
12 and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.
13 Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.”
14 When Abram entered Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.
15 And when the princes of Pharaoh saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
16 And for her sake he dealt well with Abram; and he had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male servants, female servants, female donkeys, and camels.
17 But the Lord afflicted Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.
18 So Pharaoh called Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?
19 Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her for my wife? Now then, here is your wife; take her, and go.”
20 And Pharaoh gave men orders concerning him, and they sent him away with his wife and all that he had.

Genesis 13: 11 - 12

11 So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other.
12 Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

Genesis 16: 1 - 2

1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar.
2 And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

Genesis 20: 1 - 14

1 From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar.
2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man's wife.”
4 Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said, “Lord, will you kill an innocent people?
5 Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.”
6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her.
7 Now then, return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, so that he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”
8 So Abimelech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told them all these things. And the men were very much afraid.
9 Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, “What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”
10 And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you did this thing?”
11 Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’
12 Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father though not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife.
13 And when God caused me to wander from my father's house, I said to her, ‘This is the kindness you must do me: at every place to which we come, say of me, “He is my brother.”’”
14 Then Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and returned Sarah his wife to him.

2. What History/Tradition Says

The value of a woman is in the eye of the beholder. Men of Abraham's day treated their wives like property, no foul for exchanging or upgrading. Rich men had multiple wives and that even lessen the value of women. Abraham was different for he had one wife for most of his life. There was the time he took Sarah's servant for a concubine, his behavior was different from most men of his day.

3. How Do I Apply It

It would have been bad if Abraham just did this once, no he had to go through this twice. Like all the characters besides Jesus, they all had a flaw. His was lying and his lack of faith in God's planning and protection. Abraham had the choice to journey into Egypt because of famine. No where in the Scripture does it say he counsel with God before he left Canaan. Next he messed big time and cause innocent people to be stricken with plague. You would think Abraham would have learned his lesson or at least paid for it. He in fact did. When he came to Canaan there was no mention of the famine going away. It is stated that Abraham's and Lot's shepherds didn't have enough grass to feed their flocks. Abraham let Lot, his nephew, choose which land he would want to reside in. Lot chose the fertile land by the river, leaving his uncle in famine stricken land of Canaan. Sarah didn't get off scot-free either. The very next chapter we learn that her womb is close and she can not conceive. That lead to a whole heap of mess but God didn't let it slide nor did He leave their side. He allowed them to through trials to show them their shortcomings and let them learn how and why it's important to trust Him more.

Which denomination out of the 30,0000 has the correct interpretation? and why should we believe yours over the catholic church or mormons?

My mission isn't to make you a Christian, no man can do that, it's God's work. I'm just a humble vessel used for His glory. There are brothers and sisters from different denominations and different walks of life that will be saved. Jesus said He has other sheep in different folks. With the advancement of technology we can share information easily. If you truly want to know who has all right, your search will be vain. No body of believers has it all together both in how it conducts business and ministry and what they believe. We're humans, we can never have it perfect. There are still things we don't know fully yet about the Bible. However, there are true churches and well as false churches. If you serious about an in depth answer, I could send you a PM with a link. If you're not I suggest looking up what the major denominations first and see if they line up with Bible at all. All the best man.

Question:
I'm made in God's image and possess clear logic.

I think ETERNAL hellfire for a FINITE live is completely illogical. Especially when most people barely live past 90. Yet souls can and should burn in hell forever based on things they did as a flawed human during 1/99999999999999^ of what will be their torment? :what:

My logic says that's childish and beneath MY Creator. My logic says that me even as a flawed human being would after a while say "ok you've burned for 100 years" now are you ready to act right? :usure: Eternity is overkill and sounds not only petty but just the thing one would need in order to make others stay in line.

One could people stop believing in religion because it DUMBS DOWN God.

That's a good one my brother, it's something a lot of people think about, I'll try my best to answer.

1. What The Bible Says

Genesis 18: 20 - 21

20 Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave,
21 I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know.”

Genesis 19: 24 - 29

24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
26 But Lot's wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.
28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

Matthew 10: 28 - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Romans 6: 23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2nd Thessalonians 1: 5 - 9

5 This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— 6 since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
7 and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

2nd Peter 2: 4 - For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment

Jude 1: 6 - 8

6 And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day
7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
8 Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.

2. What History/Tradition Says

Hell is a scary where bad people go when they die. That's what most of the knows or believes on the concept of Hell. Is Hell a real place? Would anyone would like to visit? Christians have used the concept of Hell into scaring people into becoming believers. On the contrary, the Bible speaks more about eternal life than is does on Hell and eternal fire.

3. How Do I Apply It

For the record since we are talking about hell, I'll bring the state of the dead. No one right is being fried in hell as we speak, it's just not happening. On the other hand, you do not go to heaven when you die according to the Bible. In Genesis 2 it makes it clear that man doesn't have a soul but is a soul. The concept of have a soul that could be unattached to a body is Greek Philosophy, it's not Biblically based. In the Hebrew, the word for soul refers to a person or oneself.

Why did I start with Sodom and Gomorrah first, because it's the best example of what is to come. As mention in Revelation, God has taken all of the righteous home with Him, with the Devil and his angels waiting for 1000 years on earth for the final judgement. After the 1000 year period all those who's names are not found in the Book of Life will rise from the dead and be judge by God one last time to show to the entire universe all the effort He has put to save them and how and why they reject Him. After this, every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and is just in His ways. However this doesn't save the unrighteous who join up with Satan to attack New Jerusalem to capture it. Fire from heaven then consumes all those who have chose to live without God and forever separate them from Him. Sin is wiped from the universe and everyone proclaims God is good.

The same thing that happen to Sodom will happen to the world. Hell does not exist now but it will appear. If you want to be literal, we're living on what is future Hell. Everyone could attest that the Dead Sea is not burning or hasn't been burning in centuries. That's the location of Sodom and the surrounding cities, cities that Abraham helped saved from Canaanite kings. We are off-put the word eternal. The Dead Sea has no life in it or around it. You can say it's the deadest place on earth. Hell will be like that, it will burn until there is nothing left to consume. If God did not rid the world of sin He would be unjust for allowing it to continue. If He also had the flames going on forever, He would be unjust for punishing beyond the crimes required. The Devil knows this and want confusion to reign while his time on earth is coming to an end.

Thanks for saving me the time by having some of the verses in the post. I'll try to do my best to answer your question.

1. What The Bible Says

Genesis 5: 1 - 5

1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
2 Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
4 The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters.
5 Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.

2. What History/Tradition Says

For most people this has been a lingering question of where did Cain get his wife from. Many have tried to analyze it and come with an answer inside and onside the realms of Scripture.

3. How Do I Apply It

This is a puzzling story to put together. It seems like Moses wanted to be down with Cain before the arrivals of his brothers and sisters. Ending of Chapter 4 would have made since in the beginning Chapter 5 because it's appear out of place. Also there isn't a mention how much time has passed it goes straight that he knew his wife. It would have been clearer for us if Moses wrote that passage after the birth of Seth. Personally I believed one of sister after a period of time. It doesn't hold that much weight because it main focus should be about how and why Jesus saves. Though it would be interested the full details, it something I could live without knowing.

Since you're a scholar look up the concepts of life energy and thermal dynamics. Thermal dynamics explains that information(soul) never dies and it only reshapes or recycles itself to a different form, basically its the conception of reincarnation. If you think about the universe as a whole, everything is recycled and repeated.

The devil presence you felt is from anxiety and the negative presence of energy around you. Energies, both positive and negative have EMF. That's why when people say they feel chills whenever a ghost is in their presence is because that ghost's energy EMF disrupts the person's EMF. So, you probably came in contact with a negative energy, but that negativity can be countered with positivity. You found your positivity through Jesus and God, the representation of positive energy.

But, there's more than just the surface layer stuff we came to understand.

Just study stuff beyond your religious beliefs like mysticism or celestialism things like that open your mind more to knowledge.

I'm always interested in learning about things I don't know about, I might take you up on the offer.
