I used to potentially feel this way about 6 figs, until you realize you can do it if you are in the right fields.

Hell when i was just doing real estate and bartending and some PTing for fun. Even that done right can get you to 6 figs and up...

Now i get everyone doesnt want to have multiple jobs, but to be honest different streams of income is definately the way to do it, if you arent a person who cab rely on a specified field. And if you have the right jobs, they wont exactly feel like "multiple jobs". Especially real estate IMO

Someday? Someday my dream will come? One night you will wake up and discover it never happened. It's all turned around on you. It never will. Suddenly you are old. Didn't happen, and it never will, because you were never going to do it anyway. You'll push it into memory and then zone out, being hypnotized by social media for the rest of your life.

Mid 30s now...honestly feel like crashing out...money would make me extremely happy and content. While I'm happy to be employed...rent and car payments eats 100 percent of that up...I'm literally working to pay bills. Mounting credit card debit, fluctuating credit score...rent raising up a extra 150 come june...its hell on earth for me right now. I just need one good lick...but I don't want to go to prison. I contemplate suicide daily.

The Truth
I’m not expecting retirement so :yeshrug:

In my second career… maybe working on a 3rd.

But idk… I don’t think that far ahead. Keep my objectives between 3-5 years.

Would’ve never got to where I am thinking like that. You’ve already lost with that mindset tbh.
Was just about to post this.

I came from the hood, and now I make six figures. And six figures doesn't only mean 100k. I don't know why nikkas always equate it with 100k it's literally 100k to 999k. A dude making 500k is still six figures.

If I thought like this nikka I would still be broke.

I thank God I don't think like this.

The keys to really getting ahead

1) Stay disciplined and do not spend unnecessarily (live within your means)
2) Pay off your debts
3) Save and invest
4) Push yourself professionally to do more, be better, be more invaluable
5) Expand your circle to include successful ppl

^^^ Spoken from personal experience
Expand your circle is key. I joined the Army at 18. I still don’t have a degree. I’ve made 120K+ so far this year.
I didn't think i was ever gonna make anything outta my life considering i dont have a college degree like everyone said i should growing up. But now im 35, married, with a beautiful child. I make $125k a year no degree and my wife makes 88k a year with a masters mba, we have A 6k sqft home in Georgia on 5 acres, a 2020 jeep, 2022 euv, 1500 ram, and 3500 ram (vehicles paid off).

I feel you. No Degree making 140K+. I always chit chat with people. You never know what position they hold.

I hit up my current boss on FB. I make more than him now. Just got offered a job make 115K not including per diem. It’s a bit less but I can move my family with me.

I’ve been offered several jobs based off conversations. My first job, I was working at IHOP and spoke to a manager who ended up giving me the position. It paid 13HR in 2005.

The first thing I will teach my children is networking. You never know who you will talk to. You could be in class with a future CEO.

if you're black, it's in your DNA to not just survive, but thrive. it's tiring but it's in you. work hard, work smart, and work together. if we do this, we will be well off. dont ever short change yourselves, brehs and brehettes.

i'm never going to be just average. i'm already above average and i'll keep going.

I realized at like 32 I wasn’t going to do the work to get rich (fast at least). And to be honest I’m just now started making over $150,000 (gross). My wife also works and makes around $90,000. But my goal was to level up and hopefully I can level up more. I purposefully never worked a civilian job I know I missed out on money but I prioritized “benefits”. That was all that was best into my head get retirement checks.

But I know a bit more now and honestly I wanted to get rich young so I can live the lifestyle. Now I want to get rich so that my grandkids are well prepared.

depressing ass thread :scust:
It is but it’s real and probably more honest than most. Folks have to find something that will help them continue to excel. It’s why I think competition as a youth is important because we all compete daily for everything and the reality is we don’t all get the trophy.

shyt this thread just invigorated me to see what’s next. I’m clearly going to have to come up with a new business plan/strategy but I need to make my income work.

It's ok to realize that you won't have the type of life that you wanted. I think most coli-nikkas are in that phase. The thing I can't stand is bitterness and hate a lot of y'all dudes have inside of y'all - along with the doom and gloom and the entitlement to other people's shyt.

I had my realization several times and thankfully they happened when I was young in corporate America. I haven't been broke since I was 19 but I realized I won't have the thing that matters most to me and that is time and autonomy if I was working for a paycheck. At 27 years old I bet it all and started our own business with my wife. By 28, as soon as the business replaced our income, my wife and I got out of working for somebody else. At, 30 we punched our own clock, was making more money than we thought possible just a few years and was basically living like we were semi retired. Business still going strong almost 12 years later.
