Absolutely it does. That's why I think more of the blame goes to Dimitroff. The trenches on both sides aren't good and that's on him with his talent selection . If you look at his drafts, for the most part, he's been subpar.

With Matt, it's not fair he gets the blame, but he getting elite money so he's expected to do more with less like the true elites are....

Look at Matt Ryan's numbers through his first 5 seasons. They are elite level QB numbers

He's not Rodgers, Brady, Peyton, Brees level I'll give you that

But he's in that next level with Flacco, Romo, Rivers QB. I don't see why y'all like to act like Matt is some Christian Ponder level QB lucky to make a roster

All I know is Matt Ryan got paid like he won a Super Bowl. EVERY other QB that's getting paid in his salary range has won a Super Bowl. And he's not on Flacco's level because at least Flacco game-managed his way to a ring. He's definitely on Romo's and River's level though but get paid a lot more.

So realistically what would you have liked for the Falcons to do? Allow Matt to walk after this season? Franchise him for a yr (which would eat up more of the team's salary cap) & then let him walk? I get it, Matt hasn't won a Super Bowl, but if you look at his entire body of work & the current market value for a QB of his stature he was going to get a contract of that value.

I don't understand why y'all keep thinkin y'all could low ball a top 10 QB just b/c he hasn't won a Super Bowl & that would've worked out.
