My fam in Atlanta owns a quarter of the stores in Hartsfield, own an investment bank, a law firm, was over Fort McPherson and handled the transition to Tyler Perry Studios, on the boards of Morehouse, Tuskegee, Atlanta Falcons, Capitol City Club, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and a shyt load of other institutions, and I’m still not moving down there. My cuz begging me to come work for his investment bank right now because he’s getting old and I’m like :unimpressed:.
I could be totally off the mark with this and if anyone in ATL has insight please share your perspective :feedme: but of all the times I've been down there I feel like for every one instance of black excellence you see (and there is a lot), there are two instances of corn fed fukkery :gucci::unimpressed:I really can't figure the city out :patrice:

I’d look into the DMV or staying In your area if I was you. Plenty of jobs I thst field in Virginia
Cool my cousins up here in the DMV keep telling me to move up there cuz the pay. I’m here now for work, lot of black joints (and no black joints) that look good and lot of things to do. I feel the tiny slowed down pace of Hampton roads tho.

DMV is unquestionably one of the best places for black people. Most black ppl live in DC or Maryland tho. NOVA is nice but it as much black folks. Lots of people commute from MD or DC to jobs in NOva.

Atlanta has the highest income disparity in the country so what you’re seeing is on point

ATL, like most places, is about who you know. If you don’t know how to navigate the city and build your network you’ll be on the outside lookin in trying to find a good job

The circle of black people making moves in Atlanta any of these industries (legal, tech, VC, real estate, banking, etc) is actually not as big as people think so if you have a game plan of how to break in to a specific industry you can target a handful of people to build with and start getting connected

Most people that I know that move here from other states are poor. They lie and tell their family back home that they are doing well but the bank account always tells the ugly truth.

Been in GA since 1989.....this is all FACTS!!!:yeshrug:

Folks move down here now dressing rich....BUT BEING BROKE :russ:

Got Gucci belt and Gucci shoes.....then hopping on the bus to go to Lenox mall :picard:

I’m self employed and run in them circles, it’s a lot of ways to get it if you work for yourself.

Can anyone speak to the tech space? I got a cousin who wants to break into the industry but honestly he doesn’t know where to begin. Can any brehs give some input?
