a woman who was raped at 14 just recently killed herself. she went to the police. they took him to court. he got away with it. then everyone sent her death threats and burnt her house down. there’s even a movie about a similar case, the accused with jodie foster. the real woman the story was based on, her attackers only did 6 years.

she did “everything she was supposed to” and had to suffer even more after the traumatic event. that’s why some people don’t report after, the treatment by their community and the police can make them feel even worse
