Swagnificent: As you can see from my rankings, I'm not that high on Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma). I honestly don't get the hype surrouding him. I know he was a successful college QB, but college and the NFL are two different things. I'm not even that hung up on his off-field issues (which are a concern). My main issue with him is on-field ability. I don't think he has the physical skill set to be great QB in the NFL.

His physical tools are not what is holding him back. So what are you even criticizing here?

Swagnificent: His size is a concern.

Not the reason why he's holding on to the ball so long. So far irrelevant at the NFL level.

Swagnificent: And unlike Russell Wilson (who Mayfield has unfairly been compared to) he lacks the elite athleticism to make up for his stature.

This is more of an X-factor that makes players like Wilson and Lamar Jackson valuable. But this is not the main reason Mayfield struggles.

Swagnificent: The offense he came out of is also a concern. There is very little in the form of NFL throws from Mayfield's college tape. More than any other QB in this class, Baker Mayfield is a complete projection because there is little to take from his success in college that translates to the NFL. I don't get why people are ignoring these concerns but in my opinion he's the riskiest QB prospect in this class. There are too many questions surrounding him for me to use a 1st or 2nd round pick on him. I believe he's the most likely bust in this QB class.

The only point I agree with. Only it took you forever in posts and in this paragraph to get to the point. This was the primary reason for concerns about Mayfield. Not the final throw-in that you chose to end this with. The tools for Baker are there. What failed him was the lack of grooming Cleveland has afforded him thusfar. He's simply not ready, and now the expectations are such that he cannot afford to learn on the job.

You can believe what you want. I think he lacks the tools. Size matters whether you like it or not. The only short QBs who succeed in the NFL have elite athleticism like Russ and Kyler or have a genius offensive coach hiding their flaws like Sean Payton. Remember Drew Brees was a very inconsistent QB in San Diego before he linked up with Sean Payton.

You this loud when you're wrong too? I promise you nobody gives a fukk you predicted that a Browns QB would be ass.

Most lames on this site thought he would be good because he put up great stats in college. Like Joe Burrow right now, most football fans are suckers for guys who put up numbers in college. I evaluate prospects by looking at their physical skill set. Its why I could tell Josh Allen would be a great NFL QB despite the fact he had terrible stats in college.

If you go by physical skill set guys like Bowler, George, Leaf and Alex Smith would be in the Hall of Fame and guys like Brady Aikman and Montana wouldn't be. It's all about intelligence, vision and pressure in the pocket. You can't judge that at a scouting combine which is how some QBs get noticed. Josh Allen has progressed but he hasn't been put in a position to lead the team just yet and he was a very high draft pick. And his stats in college were terrible because he was. The combined saved his ass.

I also include intangibles in my evaluations. Its why player faces matter so much. I basically look for guys with elite physical tools and great intangibles. Those guys are the least likely to bust. And you're wrong about Allen. Stats are more the by product of scheme, who you play with, and who you play against. Its why Texas Tech QBs always put up huge stats despite who is in there.

The overvaluing of stats is the #1 reason why there are so many misses in the draft.

Allen went to Wyoming who play in the Mountain West Conference. He didn't exactly play the elite of college football. And his progress has been steady, nothing spectacular like Maholmes or Jackson. All the things you said about Allen I can say the same about Rosen. And how do you see his intangibles. Did you scout him in college.

Aikman could run before he hurt his back in the mid 90s. Way more physically gifted than Brady or Montana. You have to be to get drafted in front of Barry Sanders, Prime Time and Derrick Thomas.

Oh, I see.

You believe there are different types of races within races.
Sort of like "X person may be black, but they're not black black...based on what they type". And this is relevant to the thread because? Because nothing. You got exposed as a fraud who makes generalizations because you lack the expertise to get into the details.

But explain what "tools" Baker Mayfield is missing? Because mobility aint the problem. Mechanics aint the problem. Arm strength aint the problem.
Just admit you claimed Baker was gonna struggle but you had no earthly idea why he would.

:coffee:
Baker is trash foh
