You know that you could remove the word "African" from both of those sentences and replace it with various other countries and it would still ring true, right?
Is the last african nation to have thrown off the chains of its colonial forefathers doing the best (SA)
And to the dude that negged me with "nah" and then came with shyt like "what is a real african?" a real african is someone born and raised in africa. glad i could clear that up. you're still african enough to rep the homeland and rock that wooden africa piece if it makes you feel any better though
You do know that there was direct European occupation and subservience in a number of African countries until the 70-80s, right? And that various Western powers have assassinated African leaders who would have helped inspire the people to revolt? There are so many problems, that differ from country to country that comparisons to South America, and the Middle East are pointless.
- Socialism, which is the backbone of the rest of the world's revolutions from their captors doesn't have a chance in most African countries due to the extreme methods upon which it was abused.
- You understand that before the Cacs were using Africa like a treasure chest, there were Middle Eastern powers attempting to do the same? ts been over a millenia of struggles for power.
- The entire continent was drawn up by people who had no idea what they were doing, internal problems are a massive issue.
- One word: warlords.
- You know how taxes were introduced in quite a few places? Cutting off hands. Try implementing a tax structure when that is the definition of the word.
- Rwandan Genocide was in 1994, as a direct result of Belgium's occupation.
- You can blame a country's poverty on White people as long as they are keeping the country poor. And that is happening in most of Africa.
- You can't say that because some people were able to "bounce back from genocide" that all people are. Comparisons are nearly impossible.
- Asia is a continent too. Radically different events have happened there, leaders have taken different methods, and there have been different industrialization periods.
- It has nothing to do with "dispersing money."
- What Africa really needs, is a coalition army, that is not divided by nationality, a massive educational and social revolution, a method of breaking the chains of neo-colonialism, a reduction in religious fervor, a breaking up of child slavery, industrialism that would resemble the Soviet Union's, an integration of modern farming methods, a period of mass isolationism, WMDs, and a lot of other things that aren't just going to happen at once. I have a few books you might want to read to help you understand: Wretched of the Earth, Toward the African Revolution, & the Dying Colonialism all by Franz Fanon. A Problem From Hell and Realising Human Rights both by Samantha Power. I'll make a thread to help you guys out with understanding the insurmountable task of turning a continent that has been raped, into a superpower.
why don't you get over and tell them about what they need to do to fix themselvesAfrica's 1st priority should be slaughtering c00ns like you![]()
Which begs the question, what would bring about the political will? nearly every revolution, or even moderate reform thats been brought about has be squashed,. Now there are leaders like Goodluck Jonathan and Robert Mugabe who occasionally show some initiative, but get lost in their own foolish ideologies.Very good points. +rep
But what Africa is lacking right now are inclusive political and economic institutions and most importantly the political will to make it happen. African leaders are not dumb. They just have different incentives when making decisions.
There are powerful elites with vested interests in the status quo.
I said its not realistic. Which is the point. Its not easy to fix the problem.why don't you get over and tell them about what they need to do to fix themselves
so quick to hate on the west, you think selling out to the chinese is a "better alternative"
you the keyboard c00n here
thomas' plan is not realistic, and i wish you could see that. "a period of mass isolationism"![]()

nonsenseI think Goodluck Jonathan is far more proative than Robert Mugabe.
so is it good vs evil?
He really is being both ******ish and cacerish at once... ignorant about the moves these nations are already making.... while he also fighting with africom to make African nations militaries pawns to US interest. Obama would rather feed 'aid' to corrupt leaders while people starve.
Far more. But Robert did bring about moderate peace for a short period of time. Along with ethnic cleansing. Neither is an ideal leader, and Robert Mugabe is getting too old, and is still abusing his power. And Goodluck Jonathan is basically a well-educated Sarah Palin when it comes to politics. Homphobia included.I think Goodluck Jonathan is far more proative than Robert Mugabe.
