It is much, much, much worse to be gay than black. By miles and miles, no contest. Thank sweet baby jesus I am black and not gay.

No offense to gay people of course, I'm just saying thank god I don't have to endure the hardship.

That's an irrational thought to have. That's like saying "I've got stage 3 lymphoma cancer but atleast I don't have aids"

:what: How is it bad to be black in Africa? That's the standard skin tone. :what:

You are equating being black and gay in Africa? I don't think you want to be gay in Uganda, Angola and CAR, friend. :usure:

Nah I'm saying it's an injustice and it has no purpose in this world. If people reply to this thread in agreement or accept that gays can be discriminated against in any fashion whether verbally, physically, economically or anyway you need to remember that the exact same arguments are used against nikkas.

No it can't. I don't know anyone that gets discriminated against for being black in Africa. You will (keyword:will) get your arse kicked for being gay...and in many cases and areas, killed.

No one here is trying to justify anyone discriminating against anyone. I get kind of annoyed about these discussions about gay rights always involving strawman arguments.

It's easier to rid the world of oppression and injustice than it is to pick and choose when and where it's acceptable. We'll just to continue to trip over our own feet trying to clean up and fix the aftermath.

That's why America's justice is so fukked. We can have 2 different people in the same if not very similar circumstances get different outcomes.

I.e brad gets caught with a blunt, and marcus gets caught with a blunt.

And they shouldn't be because black skin and sexual preference are not comparable.

When people equate black and gays it's because we (blacks) know quite well of oppression and injustice therefore we're an ally in the fight for equality. It's still goes on today when zimmerman got off and 20 years ago with la riots and 50 years ago for civil rights.

People aren't equating blacks and gays for any other reasons. Yea it's not the exact same fight there aren't many that are. I.e the atrocities of slave trade vs the trail of tears, I've never heard a black man advocate for native Americans although their are very harsh similarities

The biggest difference is that black people pass on their melanin to their children...gays do not pass on their sexual orientation to their children (Whether adopted, or in rare cases, biological). This is a massive discrepancy that people seem to understate.

Being black is a *heritage*, something that our ancestors inherited and that we will pass on to our children.

Being gay is just....a numerical occurrence. A statistical anomaly...completely random.

The gay community is tied together through human culture....the black community is tied together through BLOOD.

Now I'm not saying that gays don't have their struggles...but give me a fukking break. Their fight isn't as righteous as ours.

I think people compare it just so it helps people understand that it is wrong to discriminate.

I respect that but at the same time when it comes to black people others won't reciprocate our fight for equality. With that in mind, that's why I'm indifferent to the struggles that (white) gay people deal with. For black gay people, I empathize with them because they're black before anything else.

There are plenty of people that "support" Black people's fight for inequality, but they just don't put their money up.

Every other million dollar or more making celebrity is gay now a days...Anderson Cooper, Ellen, Neil Patrick Harris, etc. Not to mention the ones that have been always gay like Liberace and Elton John. You think they aren't piling millions in support of the LGBT community? That money is used for political influence. NOBODY is putting their money up for blacks because we are shytty with money as a whole and people are afraid we'd squander it. Make all the signs and march all you want, nothing is going to change for black people until we get some capital and then use that to purchase influence like everyone else.
