Many of these guys are supporting 40+ friends, family and side chicks at a given time. That overhead is what destroys them. I’m sure they put some aside, but when the checks drop or stop their expenses continue and drains what they put aside.

They can’t do much to bring it down. They’re employees getting income. The owners pay them that way to bring down their tax liabilities.

True but I’ve heard several NBA players say after paying everyone (lawyers, managers, agents, accountants, etc) and taxes they end up with about 40% of their salary.
