The little drum roll on Thank God I Made It threw me off too. I didn't mind how they did War Paint. I thought it was creative how he timed the drums to be on and off. Mater of fact they did that a few times on here where I thought there wouldn't be drums and then they landed.

I agree his chop game isn't his strongest point yet but I didn't mind the chops on New Streets, even though they're right "on top of the beat" and semi-aggressive considering the sample.

Daps/rep for being able to talk shop about beats but in a way that's real easy to understand.
Yea war paint is just nit picking I guess . I still like the beat overall. But yea that drum roll on thank God just feels completely out of place. But I can look past it. The album is still solid to me. Actually inspired me the chop up my own shyt right now. But respect breh....repped you back:salute:

Heavy Handz OFFICIAL WORD

1.) Burden Of Proof. What a standout intro track. Very memorable with the guitar riff style beat that transitions into the very 2000’s Roc type beat that slaps. To end the track with the dialogue & “OK, I’m reloaded” was GREAT :blessed:5/5

2.) Where Would I Go. I really like the beat to this track. I like how it transitions in & out between a soulful & rugged joint. :obama:I’m ok with Ross on the track & I think he felt the low key slow flow on the track would be perfect but I thought it was just an OK verse. At least he didn’t spit some garbage bars as he’s prone to sometimes. Really think Jada would have been perfect for this one. 4/5

3.) Sly Green. This one bangs hard but not really a fan of the slight hook. Felt like he could have done more with this one right here. :ehh: Good track just something missing. 4/5

4.) One Way Flight. This one is perfect right here. Slaps beyond measure. :ohlawd: The beat is phenomenal & the bar work is there to match the intensity. Gibbs is great on the hook. The only complaint is that Gibbs could have given us a longer verse. Song of the year? 5/5

5.) Famous. Love the beat. That sample has been used a few times before but he really flipped the sample in a way nobody has & I really fukk with it. Wouldn’t change anything about this one. Benny proved a point here. :whoo: 5/5

6.) Timeless. This is a good first single. I like the beat. Pretty dope that it was produced during the Watch The Throne sessions years back. You can really sense that Benny after signing with Roc Management is heavily influenced by Hov & you can feel Hov’s influence heavy throughout the album. :dame::scusthov: I thought Wayne & Big Sean did the track justice. Nothing ridiculous about the bars but legit. Solid. 4/5

7.) New Streets. Benny really goes in on this one. I loved his verse & the beat is lovely. BUT ITS TOO SHORT! Why only one verse? Dammit man! :mjcry: If there was one track that would be perfect for Hov to spit on it was this one right here. Reminiscing about the street life. Love this one. 4.5/5

8.) Over The Limit. This one threw me off a bit and I felt it was misplaced on the album. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I feel that it’s a bad track. I listened to it a couple times and like the Miami Vice/Scarface vibe the beat gives you. :win: Solid track. 3.5/5

9.) Trade It All. Really gives me that early Roc vibe here. Love this beat & how Benny flows effortlessly. This one really stands out. “I’m a product of the block I lived & the PAC Nas’s & BIG” :pachaha::ahh:(seriously tho no BIG emoji :ld:) 5/5

10.) Thank God I Made It. Tremendous track. Love the production & Benny really opened up a little bit talking about his mother & deceased brother. Hit-Boy said in an interview that Benny cried while reciting these lyrics. :to: Said that the only other time he experienced that in the booth is with Nipsey Hussle. Standout track. 5/5

11.) War Paint. Epic beat & Conway stole the show here with one of the best, if not best, verses on the entire album. :whew: Westside Gunn was perfect on the hook. Loved this one. 5/5

12.) Legend. Great way to end the album. I like how the beat transitions and switches up. “They said ima be a legend soon, I’m a legend now.” :salute: He’s not lying. 4.5/5

I have to rate this album 4.5/5 because half of the album I gave 5/5 which is hard to do. There were no weak joints on the album. Only some minor concerns that could have elevated some tracks to 5/5 honestly. This is neck & neck with Freddie Gibbs Alfredo for album of the year. I’ll have to let this album breath before I make that decision since Alfredo has had the time to marinate. 4.5/5

The emery around Benny’s releases be SOOOO crazy.... I think Conway created a disconnect early on with how he did his releases. And West shyt has a different energy too... I said it a couple years ago... I knew that shyt would kinda fukk Con up a bit.

That’s not the point at all man..... I didn’t say ANYTHING about folks not getting it... they had a built in fanbase BEFORE the deals. They got wild support. But there was always a delay between folks that were kinda on the fence or mainly West fans... Benny crawled right in. If you can’t see the difference :yeshrug:

Can you be a little more specific on the bolded? I'm curious. I don't know if it's related, but as a close to day-1 fan, I thought Conway made 3 big errors up until this year, and thankfully I think he's corrected most of them.

1. Only doing super goon music and never doing anything that seemed to be able to cross-over to anyone but a hardcore grimy audience
2. fukking up the rollout for GOAT. It was hyped as the huge Shady debut and ended up a fukkin' soundcloud release that wasn't even tagged and labeled properly, with mad songs left off like 94 Ghost and Fork in the Pot that were supposed to be on it.
3. Releasing every single thing he records and never leaving anything on the cutting room floor. 2019 was a bad look, and his 2 releases that year (Food 3 and Became) are widely considered his 2 worst projects.

Benny always seemed to have a better grasp on quality control and not over-saturating. Plus his content wasn't as overly harsh and aggressive.

Conway seems to have fixed the issue of improper rollouts, as well as making more introspective music, and making songs that inject more introspection, humor, fun arrogant raps, and (not mainstream) but less depressingly dark production and borderline mean-spirited themes. King to a God is very versatile and had more mainstream appeal (although still not as much as Benny.) And even Lulu had more experimental sounds and less depressingly dark ones.

What do you mean by Benny crawled right in? :ohhh:

I made a playlist of this album and Conway’s album and just pressed shuffle. :wow:

Great rap albums.

What I mean is when Benny first “officially” got signed up they was on some he’s (redacted) replacement and that’s it.... Benny flooded shyt and put alllll his shyt out and smoked his features... Con and West had the flow before Benny fully got it... but early on when the solo projects came out Con was going the “cop the physicals and I’ll release it to DSP’s later” route... and folks used to be scrambling for his shyt... Benny was releasing his projects out right... and people kinda checked in more... so then we got the “who’s better?” shyt a LOT more... I remember Conway being on IGLive arguing with fans about shyt... then the delay of “GOAT” etc... look how the industry showing Benny love right now. They KNOW what Con does too... but there’s a different support when Benny drops.
