9/11 - I was in Florida at the time and watched it live on the news. We were getting ready to go out for some breakfast then saw it happening in real time. Don't think we left our hotel room for hours. Just glued to the TV in disbelief. I was only 10 but I'll never forget seeing that second plane fly into the tower in real fukking time. It's the most surreal thing I've seen to this day. If I remember right the news presenters didn't even notice it at first

"Oh, is that an explosion in one of the towers?!?!"

What I also remember was how EVERYONE had America flags hanging out of their car windows that night.
Katrina - Similar story to above tbh. In the US and followed it live.
COVID shyt really hitting the fan - I remember following it on the news months earlier and being paranoid as fukk about it and everyone was telling me to chill.
MJ dying - was playing FIFA with my cousin and he told me. I didn't believe him.
Kobe dying - I hate Sunday nights so I was bored af and just browsing through twitter, saw he was trending and clicked out of curiosity since he was retired so why the fukk would he be trending, right?
The Queen dying will be one in the future too. Too recent to include it rn but living in the UK I doubt I'll forget that one.
The Paris terror attacks in 2015. I remember these well cause I just got out of hospital that night, got home and saw it unfolding on the news while I was still groggy as fukk from the anaesthetic. Didn't know if I was tripping or not.
London 7/7 attacks - I got my braces fitted that day and my teeth hurt like a motherfukker. It's strange the shyt you remember man
Obama winning is a good one too. Was at a concert that night and got home and followed the results on the news. I vividly remember his winning speech in Chicago.
Sandy Hook shooting and the Colorado cinema Batman movie one too. Don't know why I'm lumping these in together, they feel like they happened at the same time even though they were probably ages apart. Technically with the Colorado one it had already happened but I didn't know about it yet, first I found out was when I got home, sat down in front of the TV with my pizza and seen it on the news at 6pm.
Trump winning too but that's still kinda recent but I remember all of that evening well. I'm not even American and I remember being worried about the implications for the rest of us as well as just being sad that hate and bigotry was still so rampant in America to a damn presidential extent.
The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Easily rememberable because of the day it happened (26th December). I can't believe that was 18 years ago. Holy fukk

On a similar note I remember the Japanese one too in I wanna say 2011? Was a Saturday morning (I think the Earthquake happened the day before, but shyt really hit the fan over the weekend) and TV shows were interrupted for news coverage, I just remember seeing fukking houses and cars sliding down the street. Nature is terrifying man
I remember the Boston marathon bombing well. I followed the manhunt closely afterwards. Was listening to Police scanners and watching people live streaming SWAT teams in their backyards. Was crazy to follow live.
Lowkey I could swear I vaguely remember bits from the OKC bombing too even though I was only young.
Bin Laden's death. Just remember there was a press thing announced with Obama and people were speculating what it was. I had it on CNN and they were calling it but couldn't confirm. Then they switch to the White House and Obama walking along this red corridor looking like a badass
