Besides C.R.E.A.M, what other megahits did Wu Tang Clan have as a group?

Miss that era dearly. Cowards had to stay in the house wit no internet. You wanna run your mouth and talk slick? Fine, you could not run anonymously like a p*ssy. You said it, it got heard where you were and dealt with.

Wu was theme music for ass whippings!

the internet/social media has been a gift and a curse. its given cowards who would normally not even make eye to eye contact much less speak their mind a platform to be heard.

Exaggerated fact.

opinion.

half falsehood, half opinion.

Anyway, to awnser the thread question:

Triumph
It's Yourz
Winter Warz
Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)
:beli: another delusion of grandeur post

Bone went 4x Plat with E.1999. Wu Forever was also certified 4x Plat, but since its a double album, that means only 2 million copies were sold. So I I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Bone was far more commercially successful.

I'm not a Bone fan, but it seems to me that the general consensus regarding Bone is that, at most, they have one classic album, E.1999. Although I think it's a disputed classic, for the sake of argument, I'll concede that.
36, OBFCL, Liquid Swords and Supreme Clientele are undisputed classic records. 36 and OBFCL would rank in the top ten or twenty for most.

That is the factual basis for the opinion that they are far better and make classics.

So how can they be the GOAT rap group?

Stop feeding the troll..........

Radio hits have NOTHING to do with skills on the mic. We're talking about a group that has multiple classic group/solo albums. A group that has at least 5 MC's that could body most MC's they are on a track with. Critical acclaim in every magazine and by everybody in the industry.

And if we really wanna talk about "top hits" they had 8 singles as a group in that hit the top 25........ EIGHT

This thread is ridiculous. Wu Tang Singles have never done well on the Billboard Charts. Their two Biggest Hits on the Hot 100 are "Cream" (60) and "Method man" (69). Their biggest hit on the Rap charts was "Triumph"(6). But in the Hip Hop World "Protect your Neck, Method Man, Cream, Can It All Be So Simple, Triumph, Wu Tang Clan aint' nothing to F*ck With, It's Yours" are all HOOD Mega Hits which means more than the billboard charts. As far as Pop Hits. Method Man with "All I Need" and Ol' Dirty with the "Fantasy Remix and Got Your Money" were huge.

Actually Method Man and Ol' Dirty b*stard were the most successful Wu Members on the Billboard charts. Reakwon also had one of Wu's biggest hits with "Ice Cream" (38) which was a top 40 hit. Wu is too hard for the Billboard Charts. The Pop audience never really liked Wu's singles but their albums have done well. Wu Tang along with solo's have had 17 albums debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Charts which is more than any group in Hip Hop History. So this proves that Pop Fans and Rap fans in general buy Wu Tang for their body of work not their singles. NaS is the same way. He doesn't have a lot of high charting singles but he has 8 Platinum albums.

Exactly...... mainstream appeal only means your popular/trendy or that you have a more pop sound (most times)........

Yeah, Wu was never about having big big hit records like Crossroads or Hard Knock Life, If I Ruled the world, etc., but they released records that got spins and the albums always sold. 36 went platinum, Cuban Linx went gold initially and is now platinum and Ice Cream, while not a mega hit, is a hit record. Meth clearly has the biggest hit record with You're All I Need but RZA's business plan was so on point then, Meth's success=Wu's success. Shimmy Shimmy Ya was a hit record, again not huge but a hit. And the fact that the album sales are there, not just in the U.S. but worldwide, says a lot more than hit records. GZA went gold without major airplay, Ghost went gold on Iron Man without major airplay and by now, it's platinum. Wu Forever was a huge album summer of '97 and definitely one of those things that you had to be around to witness. MTV doesn't air specials on groups or albums that aren't popular or big and won't move the needle and that's exactly what they did that summer.

I think the 1st wave of Wu Solo's have to be considered Wu Tang Group Projects even though they were solos. It wasn't until the 2nd wave of Solo albums that RZA was doing less production and the Solo were taking on different identity. But to me you have to include all these albums as far as the Wu Dynasty:

36 Chambers
Tical
Cuban Linx
Return to the 36 Chambers
Liquid Swoards
Iron Man
Wu Tang Forever

Yeah that's how they see it and that's how I've always seen it. Those all count as wu tang hits or wu tang success and again, I'd rather have the strong album sales they had then rather than the big hit records. The W went platinum for God's sake and that's with no airplay at all. Iron Flag went gold the next year again with no airplay. I

Da fukk is a hood mega hit breh? Cause I can promise you none of those songs were getting major play on the radio 3 months after release in any hood outside of New York.....And you mention Ol Dirty Rae and Method Man carrying the Wu brand as solo albums but this just proves my point that as a group there brand wasnt that strong musically as everyone on the coli likes to hype.... Great solo efforts out of the Wu Tang crew but they only had 2 solid group joints and only 1 classic out of that bunch (36 Chambers)... so with that said As a GROUP to me they just dont have enough material to warrant GOAT status

Ah, but those albums are solo albums - not albums by the group "Wu-Tang Clan", which is why singles from those weren't included.
That's what some of y'all don't get. The question is: what singles were 'megahits' where the artist was "Wu-Tang Clan"?

The only gray area here is what defines "mega-".
