To ME, yeah. Hip Hop been watered down for a loooooooooooong ass time to me yet cats like Nas, Scarface, Jay-Z (at times), Az have kept that shyt leveled and true to what I grew up on

His was rapping wasn't eventhat great on that album I mean it's Nas so the rapping is always never a problem but WE TALKING BEST RAPPER , Being a Rapper isn't just lyrically ability but the WHOLE PACKAGE ... Nas didn't have it in 08 and that album was mediocre .. This whole MVP shyt was a great idea but has been ruined by stans voting off dikkriding I mean literally everyone on this list except Luda and Bun B had a better album than dude that year

Rapping wise TI was at his best this year IMO , his accent toned down a bit (I preferred that) . Wayne made some cool joints on Carter 3 but it was not better than Paper Trail and was somehwat underwhelming honestly .

2008 was actually one of the best in recent memory


Jeezy and TIP put much better albums than Wayne , Game had joints on LAX and a lot of the young class was dropping classic tapes (Cudi/Wale/Wiz) .


Wayne was dropping other tracks aside the album that bumped and Kanye dropped 808's


And the OG's like Bun B and Cube put out solid projects

I'm voting for Wayne. Dude was every fukking where. Wayne was like a full fledged ENTITY in music at that point, and was still growing. Plus that Carter 3 sessions mixtape was fukking crazy on top of his album. Other folks was making better albums, yeah.

2008, Wayne was just.... better.
