voted for Nas cause i thought the point of these threads was to decide who we feel the best mc was in a particular year

i was listening more to queens get the money than a millie or im illy myself (maybe i shouldve voted jay elemakhanuka)

but some of you act like this is a popularity contest so... do you bretherens. sooner or later yall know who the prophet is :yeshrug:
nikka it's just who the best MC , it's about the music too that Untitiled album was not special

people can rate on whatever factors they wish obviously but if I where to undergo some of the logic the Nas voters are applying I'd vote GZA every year he's eligible because technically to me he's the GOAT lyricist

Would vote K-Rino quite comfortably, released 4 albums that year and 3 of them were very dope, other 1 seemed to be more of a compilation.

The Blood Doctrine is a very good album, it's exceptional. The first 2 of the Triple Darkness series are very dope too. The Other Side came out that year too which was very dope forgot about that, so that's 5 albums, I still bump 4 of them regularly...
  • 2008: The Blood Doctrine
  • 2008: Triple Darkness Vol. 1 - Wreck Time
  • 2008: Triple Darkness Vol. 2 - The Lyrics
  • 2008: Triple Darkness Vol. 3 - Coalition Ambush

Yeah, but GZA will never top Liquid swords. The bar was set so high.

yeah but that isn't my point

like when 1995 comes around I might very well vote GZA because that's my GOAT album and I think he was the best rapper that year

and it was because of that and the high standard he kept thereafter that he remained my GOAT lyricist. but imagine if I were to vote him this year just because of that. and also 2002. and 1999, and so on and so forth? wouldn't make sense. I feel Nas fans are using this route, some of them at least. There are more deserving people in 2008 than Nas and GZA for that matter.

We talking bout Nas as MC. Not the beats on that album or anything
1 thing bout Nas is as mc, he's always stayed sharper than steal with the lyrics. Beats is another thing
I doubt that's how you or any of the others vote in the polls tho :jbhmm:

Otherwise Kanye would have lost 2004, Jay-Z would have lost 2001, Kendrick would have lost 2012.
