I don't know about that, Rap City was a beloved show, and Em gave it some memorable moments.

it was a beloved show, but why bring it back just to promote some white dude's album on a black channel even tho he doesn't have a whole lot of black fans?

I don't even recall Eminem being on rap city.

never caught a buzz from an Eminem episode neither. so much for memorable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Em's first BET appearance after he fell off? :patrice:

Uhhh no. You mean as far as the award shows, he was a regular on Rap City.

it was a beloved show, but why bring it back just to promote some white dude's album on a black channel even tho he doesn't have a whole lot of black fans?

I don't even recall Eminem being on rap city.

He was on rap city plenty of times, and If we going to do the "special edition" Rap City thing for anybody who else would it be besides him jay or nas? To warrant that the artist would have to be iconic and relevant enough for people to want to tune in. Those three names have the longevity, icon status and are still dropping material.

And being that the staple of rap city were the "the booth" freestyles, he has more history with the show than nas or jay in that context.

A lot of that shyt sounded like shots at weezy.

I pray to god, Allah, Buddha, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph that weezy tries to pop something back so em can murk dude. He seems hungry for beef right now. On mmlp2 there's shots at drake, hov, nas, weezy, hell even Asher Roth and Mac miller caught some lines. I feel bad for dude who feels brave enough to step to the white boy in the booth. I don't care who it is. Death is certain.

They cancelled rap city to make 106 n park the new TRL and vehicle for artists to promote their music. Essentially further closing the window artists have to promote their music. If you arent a huge name or tied into a major machine, you no longer have a chance of getting promotion. Bob JOhnson really sold out friends.

what a shame of what hiphop has become

:childplease:

Eminem isn't relevant enough or iconic with the BET audience.

niccas see thru this chit b. I hope youre just playing dumb because Eminem is your favorite rapper. like what you like, but remember who you are at the end of the day. even the white posters are calling a spade a spade.

mtv jams is only good for the throwback weekends.

besides, mainstream rap & Stephen hill's BET don't deserve rap city anymore. im glad they pulled the plug when they did. should've pulled it sooner.
