It's 2014 and people still have 80's party's... Hollywood is still ripping off all of the 80's movies with remakes... you have kids trying to dress like the 80's... you have a lot of musicians trying there best to make some music that sounds like some 80's shyt... ect.
People don't fantasize about the 90's the way they do about the 80's...

True. I think America peaked somewhere between the 80s and the 90s. And started to really decline in the 00s. That's probably why.
IMHO the 10s will be known as the decade with no personality or identity.
The 90s are making a comeback though...mostly with 90s babies that weren't old enough to experience the 90s and only see them through their internet fueled lens. I was talking to somebody at the bar about it.

I'll just say this. the 80s and 90s was good cause it was before 9/11 and we didn't have to worry about terrorism and amber alerts and TSA and Department of Homeland Security and the economy of the country was ten times better than it was now and we still had a World Trade Center. We had freedom and the internet wasn't as developed as it was now so people actually interacted with each other in real life and went outside.

believe me, the whole 90's retrospective in pop culture is coming soon. that 80's nostalgia goggles shyt is coming to a close. the entire internet is obsessed with 90's culture. its only a matter of time before that transfers over into the real world

Like someone said in a thread in the booth...people don't care about the 80s anymore. 80s babies are entering their 30s. 90s babies are coming of age entering their 20s and they grew up in the 00s. And pretty soon...people won't care about the 90s anymore either.
Much as we had a respect of the 80s being born in them, they have a respect of the 90s being born in them. Plus we were kids in the 90s so it's like...second wind!
