lol at rakim being seamless. they both lack things that the other one has. rakim is more technical, which is what he focuses on. nas has better narative and is more of a poet than a "technical/lyrical" emcee.

rakim can rap over anything can he? then why doesn't he?

to me it looks like the nyggas votin in this poll are judging ra vs nas on an overall musical level...cause there aint no way nas should be beating rakim like this...


you could easily argue he shouldnt be toppin ra at all...strictly from an MC standpoint....

i agree that nas' music is better, but most of u nyggas is lacking perspective...you cant compare these two on that front...at least not when youre talking strictly about rakims prime(87-92), which by the looks of this thread is what most of yall are doing, which is cool....but rap changed insurmountably from rakims prime to Nas' debut album even...not only in terms of content but beats had evolved dramatically....of course ud rather listen to nas' music nowadays,so gtoh with that bullshyt...

my vote is for rakim
