Better player: Curry or Iverson?

I don't think you can really go wrong when choosing which player you like more.

But if you're asking who is the better player, right now... based on the current trajectory... I'd say stephen curry is the better player.

Iverson had a long stretch of sustained prolific scoring... and he was incredible to watch.

But that doesn't make him better at basketball.

A soft player from a rich family like Curry could never have the hunger and drive of AI.

i dont know about that bro. Curry comes from a basketball family but i actually respect his grind. Didn't go to a big school, huge question marks coming into the draft and even when he got in the league, had ankle issues. Iverson came into the league with a bunch of hype. Curry had to make his own hype.

No I'm not trying to shyt on FG%. It is an important stat but it doesn't tell the whole story IMO. People use numbers in general to base their decisions when there's multiple variables at hand that dictate those numbers. There's also things that don't show up in box scores at the end of the night that you would have to watch in order to know. People shyt on AI and wanna compare him to Curry when they're not even the same type of player. AI was a SG on a team devoid of OFFENSIVE TALENT who was relied on to score heavily, while Curry is a PG on a team loaded with offensive talent who is depended on more to facilitate and not take as many shots. Teams can't key in on Curry like they could with Iverson who was damn near the only guy who could create offense on our team. And he still would kill them.

Generally I agree that stats don't always take everything into context. I do think that if A.I had more help he would've been more efficient, but I highly doubt that it would be on the same tier as Curry.

Regardless, stats and the eye test are both important when evaluating players

"Heart" and bullshyt like "pound for pound" won't make AI better than Steph. Iverson was a trendsetter and the hood favorite but Steph is way better in virtually every aspect. Curry is simply a generational talent.

Cavs were literally trapping Steph at damn near the half court line just to get the ball out of his hands. Once he was able to read the double teams and pass out effectively it was a wrap. AI never got that amount of defensive attention.

Steph is like the PG version of Shaq. You have to cover him from almost 28 feet in, there is no weakness in his offensive game when it comes to scoring. He can hit the three, midrange, finish inside, the floater all at a high rate and he has the vision to punish teams that double team him.
