Beyonce and Adidas part ways

I only half pay attention to any of this, but what is the consensus for why folks like Rihanna, Kylie can create hugely successful fashion/cosmetic brands but Beyonce hasn't been able to do the same?

rih had a cold fashion game soon as she rebranded herself during the GGGB era - (first and foremost let me give props to kelis cuz she actually paved the way for the looks rih had....but i digress). rih served looks from couture, to sexy AF, to street wear every time she stepped out the house from 07-13. rihanna was also one of the first major celebrities on SM - she used to be on twitter heavy in early 10s - both her personality and her ability to switch up looks organically connected to folks.

bey is old school, no access, very media trained, she never had a fashion sense, her clothing was pure country bumpkin pageantry. she never pushed the envelope or went against the grain, and she was hard for paps to get snaps of - so all she had was red carpet gowns - that doesn't inspire people to want to look like you.

the kardashian/jenner thing is a whole other beast, but they are basically the OG "influencers" - they brought a lot of looks to the mainstream, BBL's, contouring, lip fillers, thick brows, etc

Beyonce is too big for collabs. Their brands drag her down more then lift her up. She should just drop her own stuff.

Another reason why Rihanna > Bey.

she did a lot of promo for each collection launch. but no one looks at bey's fashion and runs out to cop or copy what she's doing. bey's look is either ball gowns and couture dresses or looks no one gives AF about. a pap snap of her in ivy park on a store run doesn't move the needle the way rih can get snapped in a fubu jersey and have women wanting to rock fubu

That’s not what I’m talking about. She has to be seen in the clothes outside of a campaign or advertisement

Meh I don’t know …these aren’t some high end sourced materials …it’s regular shyt like the rest of their cloths from adidas

The material may not have cost much for the raw, but securing the material and shipping that material could've been expensive as hell.

Securing manufacturing capacity for a limited or indeterminate amount of production runs can be expensive. Running more production is actually cheaper than running limited runs cost per garmet. Building a plant, is even more expensive. I'm pretty sure they didn't build a plant for this, but Adidas has done dumber things recently. In this still fukked up supply chain world we live in, I could really see the former happening easy.

They priced people out though.

Honestly, a Beyonce album 100% focused on the music would be a great things as thing point and completely doable because of her voice.

Maybe even make more appearances because low key the era of stars being exclusive and sparse is kinda out.
People enjoy personable more than anything now and to be honest, people actually liked her personality before the 'queen' era because she was outgoing and not as serious.
