The notion that a story in the media is going to affect how a player performs on the field or court. These athletes get paid millions of dollars and have played in 100's to 1000's of games. You mean to tell me that an elite defensive end can play through a concussion or all sorts of fractures & bruises but will be affected psychologically during a game because the crowd and talking heads have a sour opinion of him?

:camby:

What the fukk are you talking bout?

He's talking about distractions and he's right.

The idea that because there is a "bullying" scandal players won't be able to focus during the week and execute to their abilities during the game

The idea that it is acceptable to compare players you NEVER seen play to players that you watch with adult eyes and understand all the facts and circumstances around their career(teammates, competition, injuries, etc)

For example, You people that say things like Bill Russel > Tim Duncan please STOPPPPPP!!!! :damn:

I don't know breh. Momentum feels real in college football. You can feel when momentum shifts in big college games.

And how many times do you "feel" that momentum change and then nothing happens?

I stopped reading right there... See, at one point in time, the QB position was always played by the most physically gifted...... and on top of that, the most physically gifted on the team was the most celebrated until........................

Integration......

When it became glaringly obvious that :mjpls: was no longer the stud on the team, not only did the rules change, but the narrative to be considered good did as well...

It happened in basketball.... being able to dunk was considered having a lack of skill.....:mjlol:

I feel ya post man.. I really do.. but I've seen, and read about this narrative... and when a certain group is given free entrance into said "sport"(keyword is free) the narrative always gets turned on its ear..
You should've kept reading :mjlol:

America does not have a monopoly on super athletes. There are reasons you don't see ppl that size playing soccer.

The biggest misconception in all of the sports world is that it is fair and honest and pure.
We all know the NBA, NFL, etc are shady as fukk. but when the Olympics who ppl consider the "purest" of all sporting events is so full of corruption and doping it just shows everyone that Sport is no longer sport. It is now just entertainment that can be bought and sold to consumers disguised as "sport"

Loyalty and support can be bought. Buying gold medals is no different than buying an NBA championship, a stanley cup or the Super bowl.
Its all about the money now. EVERYTHING. There used to be some kind of integrity in sports. But there is just way to much money involved now.

that all sports games are rigged, and used as countless distractions to keep the masses busy
but, there is more truth to that than not though.

I wouldn't say ALL games are rigged. but Iwill say that a lot of them are.
Basketball, Football and especially soccer are notoriously bad for rigging.

the fastest athlete of all time is Jamaican :mindblown:

Especially in college sports. Momentum has almost visible shifts during games and is obviously a huge part of march madness.
can you quantify that?

to judge when momentum happens, you have to actually see it happening and see it happen across several games, etc.

When people say this, they say it after the fact, never when it happens. (as in that moment)
