The Chronic was better than RTD and 2001 was better than LAD. Dre just knows how to put albums together and Big had a lot of guidance from Puff.

It was bigger on a commercial scale but the Chronic had the streets on lock. That was the first west album that I would hear cars playing. Everybody played that shyt. Nothing on 2001 comes close to timeless songs like G Thang or Let Me Ride

Naw...they were not. Not at the time they were coming out.
Dude you quoted is right - The Chronic was monstrous when it came out.
The only other rap albums that were close as far as reception were Doggystyle
and Life After Death.
btw, AMG is better than Diamond D.
doggystyle was a bigger release than the chronic.....altho, it was a bigger release BECAUSE of the chronic.
meh. LAD was only a bigger release because biggie had just died a couple weeks prior.
