So what do you say to the Ghanaian farmer who’s banana crop got wiped out cuz of a plant disease/pest that could’ve stayed healthy with a stronger gmo fortified seed?

Let's break this down.

1. Who says that the GMO banana seed would fair any better?
2. You do know that that big agribussinesses own the seed copyright and that the farmer can retain the seeds?
3. You do know that that big agribussinesses are notorious for suing farmers? Even when the farmer unknowingly has the seed growing on their land?
4. Let's assume that the GMO banana does its job. What happens when another disease attacks the GMO plant?
5. Let's assume that the GMO banana does its job and everybody buys the GMO banana and abandons the non-GMO banana varieties. What happens to the genetic diversity of said crop? Do you honestly think that a lack of genetic diversity within crops and animals is a good thing?

Wrong. It's not necessarily the seeds that fukk up the soil. It's the over-reliance on the GMO crops combined with over spaying of weedkillers (brought about by the GMO weedkiller resistant crop).
