The barrier of entry for actors and musicians are higher and then they have to be able to draw an audience that will spend money on them. Then you have all the BS within those industries they have to intend with to not get taken advantage of and keep employment

Social Media Influencers are at the end of the day entertainers. Singers and Actors are no more worthy of their fame than a Nightime Talk show host or comedian. Social media influencers put in more work as they do they their own marketing unlike an actor or singer. People forget the Kardashians are nothing more than Social Media Influencers. Kylie Jenner is more popular than Billie Eilish by any metric. I'll be willing to bet if both put on simultaneous livestreams, Kylie would get more viewers watching her out on her new makeup line and talking about her day than Billie Eilish could get doing a fully produced concert of new material. Mr Beast puts up damn near Superbowl viewersm numbers every 2 weeks. At the end of the day, viewers only care about being entertained and monetization comes from the number of eyes on an artist or entertainer.

Rap came, 80s was hot, 90s rap dtarted to cool, got stagnated early, then 92 gangsta rap, 93 wu 94 95 then that settled to being populat. 2005-07 it stagnated. 2010 it was back. Now its stagnate again. Itll have a new crop of rappers in a few years.
