:francis:Im torn

Because Im not 100 againt social programs

But...
Why should there be people who literally pay no taxes but receive a huge chuck of social benefit?

:shaq2:

You could do some googling yourself to know the answer, you sound like Mitt Romney.

These people (43% of American) aren't tax exempt, they still pay federal payroll income taxes that support Social programs, and a lot of those people don't pay federal income taxes because they either don’t have any income that is taxable or they don’t owe the government money.

This is why im torn

Because I used to be allll about it, when I was in my 20s and a socialist.

But now, Im torn , regardless of the dynamics, I know people who dont work all yr who cop 7 or 8k tax returns n shyt.

I know my lil bro pays maddd money every month, and still ends up owing.

He must know low income single mothers with multiple children maybe. And the highest payout I ever heard from someone in that demographic was about 6700k, and Sallie Mae took it all. :wow: She also had a full time job. And scratch the low income part, she made possibly about 40k or a little less. That's still low income, but not what the government (or the Coli, when convenient :mjpls:) consider to be low income. If you don't work all year how can you file taxes anyway? Am I missing something here?

Some credits don't require income themselves, but I can't come up with a scenario outside of your with EITC getting close to that number.

Only likely scenario is you have multiple kids, live with someone who sells drugs and you file despite showing any income.

The problem here is you're putting a big target on your back to be audited/arrested.

But he said didn't work at all...

It just goes back to the white supremacy inspired belief that the poor shouldn't have any luxuries. His argument would be, well, they didn't work for it. So? It's not like the belief stops there. If your work isn't deemed valuable for a living wage by old white men in suits then you only deserve to be allowed to survive, and barely that. Black people as a whole believe in a lot of toxic conservative tropes. If we were better off as a people the GOP could survive off black votes alone.

oh goody.
the welfare queen trope.
thats original

:pacspit:

never a peep about corporate welfare though.
cause supposedly somebodys cousins neighbors baby mama got 5g in income tac refund ...

:childplease:

I have said it before in this forum, this country really hates the poor, people are more outraged about the social welfare that helps poor people, but where is the outrage over corporate welfare?

"I recently read the February 24 Good Jobs First report, “Subsidizing the Corporate One Percent,” by Philip Mattera, a respected thought leader in our business. It says that three-quarters of all state economic development subsidies went to just 965 corporations since the beginning of the study in 1976. The Fortune 500 corporations alone accounted for more than 16,000 subsidy awards, worth $63 billion – mostly in the form of tax breaks.

Think about that. The largest, wealthiest, most powerful organizations in the world are on the public dole. Where is the outrage? Back when I was young, people went into a frenzy at the thought of some unemployed person using food stamps to buy liquor or cigarettes. Ronald Reagan famously campaigned against welfare queens. The right has always been obsessed with moochers. But Boeing receives $13 billion in government handouts and everyone yawns, when conservatives should be grabbing their pitchforks."

:hubie:For the record....

I dont have an issue w the recipients.... For taking advantage of the system.

I understand my view is different:hubie:

But I have an issue with the system in general.

Plus in my hood its common to not work or barely work (or do randam hustles all yr)...

Then Schedule C you a perfect income for taxes, add in children... Or children that arent yours (if some shorties have more than 3... They let others claim em)... And get a 6 to 8 K return.

You mean the very rich and their corporations?:sas1:
I don't believe people should vote in politicians that allow banks and large corps to be bailed out or helped. Like how most large CEOs loved Obama's policies on taxes but we still voted him in again.

And most wealthy people do pay madddd taxes , and our corps pay more than most corps in most nations. 30% + (fyi)
