It's always weird looking and barely can enunciate themselves black folks comparing black versus white. It's always the grass it's greener on the white side.

She has to reiterate she grew up around rich whites. I can already tell as soon she started talking what party of the United States she was from. Her inarticulate ass just yapping. She sounds like she spitting when she talks. She looks like those ghetto blacks she's speaking on.

Some people do take prom waaaay too seriously. At the end of the day its just a HS dance that nobody is going to GAF about by next year. Especially if you're actually doing something with your life. I cant fault parents for wanting to give their children a good memory. On the other hand tho its usually the materialistic mfs that be doing the most for prom. The type of parents that send their kids to school in nothing but name brand just to say "but my child can dress tho". The type of parents whos kids make fun of other kids because their fit isnt designer. So I see both sides of it.

Sadly what he said was true, at least in Baltimore

I know for a fact from a lot of my family being right from the Wire that they do two proms (junior and senior) and make big deals out of them because a lot of kids don’t graduate/get married/college etc

And to keep it real this was before social media era (2000s) when I was first told this and I’ve been told this many times so it’s not a made up thought at least in my world

I have no doubt it's everywhere. The first I heard about it was around '99-00, they were planning group trips to David's Bridal and were putting together lists. Those seeds were going to spread far and wide regardless. Add in social media when that took root and...

I see no issues with black kids celebrating prom for all the evils and wrong in society this isnt one to harp on, graduating from high school is an achievement one should rightfully be proud off, any step to help one attain a higher education or improve themselves is always worthy of applause
We know you enjoy prom season you fukking pedophile

One of my nieces had prom last year, and all the families were outside the venue like a red carpet, and the principal announced everyone as they pulled up in cars, or limos. My sister in law let her date drive her Discovery. It’s a mixed race school. She’s at Howard now.

:wow:

Nobody did anything too ghetto.

The shenanigans at Graduation is because most won't go to College. The over the top shyt for Prom is because a lot of them won't have weddings.

I can’t relate to this because I didn’t go prom in high school. Parents would have probably made me buy my own stuff. I don’t remember seeing a ton of my classmates going all out for prom either.
This was over 20 years ago.

I’ve had two weddings so I guess it makes up for my lack of prom.

Going over the top for prom is a form of overcompensating for parents IMO.
