I will say this. Trump openly stated what has been a Republican strategy for quite some time. If we can't get votes from a certain demograpic, then better to spend resources to dissuade them from voting.
I can't see a man with a family or future life, education, or business plans sitting on sidelines and allowing others to decide who creates, interprets, and enforces the laws of the land. It just wouldn't add up to me.

I don't get why people are attacking Karen Bass in this thread. She's a decent politician. And that article offered some good analysis on why some Black men feel cutoff from the Democratic party without invoking the usual ignorant shyt you read on here. Instead of discussing that, y'all are showing how fragile you are.

Caruso, for example, favors a return to some of the disastrous tough-on-crime strategies of the past, locking up more people and moving away from criminal justice reform. He wants to add 1,500 officers to the Los Angeles Police Department and has been endorsed by former LAPD Chief William J. Bratton — he of broken-windows policing infamy.

On homelessness, Caruso wants to quickly clear a lot more encampments, which Black men disproportionately occupy thanks to decades of systemic housing discrimination.

I hope they enjoy even more pretext stops and tough-on-crime policies that impact innocent people more than anyone else, even the actual criminals.
