I understand your point. However, I look at it this way: if my parents could come to a Western country, from a completely different culture - meet each other, get married, find ways coexist within the system, and still be together - why can't someone like me who has lived in a Western country all my life, do the same? I've got the luxury of being conversant with how things work out here from birth. They never had that and they had to acclimatize (I'd even say it's a perpetual process with them) and do it against all odds. They also don't have two heads.
More so, I'd wager that the primary reasons why most marriages fail is because people do it for the wrong reasons and because of that they overlook a lot things based on mundane things people tend to attach to maturity/and-being-matured these days. You've got people who get married to women solely based on aesthetics when they know the type of past they have and how old habits never die. But they'll still go ahead and do it because the society told them being able to look beyond a woman's past, is a sign of maturity - when it's common knowledge that you can't make a slag a housewife. And you've people who know the women they're with, are just in it for what they can get out of it, or they don't even connect with their women on that level. However, they'll still take the big step to the next level without examining/understanding the consequences of their actions.
Admittedly, I'd say I understand the risks involved and people will always have their flaws regardless of how good you think they're. But I don't mind taking that risk at least once for the sake of my kids. I just want 15 years out of it because that's enough time to instil certain foundational/fundamental values in your kids (if you decide to have all your kids within the first 6 years) under the same roof. And whatever happens after that can happen. Raising kids in a stable home is always a better option than popping kids everywhere and, as black people, it should be non-negotiable since we're the most affected group when it comes broken homes and single parent households.

Time and time again women show they are unable to understand how a man's mind operates. A supportive wife is a boon for great success but they're not throwing themselves at the broke and hard working. When you're having to work your ass off to make, feelings of inadequacy aren't helpful so you're going to hear a lot of ''I'm waiting until I get my shyt together first."
