Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
That still doesn't explain why NYC ( a city with more blacks than any other city) hasn't produced shyt.....Nor does it account for all the blacks that have always lived in the south.... like nikkas in the south didn't know how to play basketball, til New Yorkers moved down there or something :heh:

It's the coaching structure in NYC that has fukked things up, it's why you're seeing more players come from right outside the city (LI & Westchester county). They are too rigid and very rarely allow a player develop beyond what they think that player should be, you'll notice there's not much variety in the player types coming from NYC, it's either 5'11" shot chucking PG with no jumper but mean handle or the rugged 6'5" -6'7" PF that can't do anything but body people in the paint.

The highest rated prospect in NY right now is from White Plains, NY which is about 20 minutes outside the Bronx, he's a 6'7" kid that is allowed to play on the perimeter which is basically unheard of in NYC right now. I can't even tell you the last kid that was over 6'6" that played exclusively on the perimeter in NYC, they are almost always turned into this weird hybrid that either can't shoot but can slash or somehow they morph into a PF.

I know the original guy who used to DJ all the Rucker games in the 70's on. HE said the Rucker league had levels and that the league with Dr. J and them was the Pro Rucker and that there were divisions under the pro Rucker. Not only that, he told me that that they didn't only play in the Rucker....the Rucker league was also in Dykman and elsewhere.

I told him he needs to get up with Bobbito.

Yeah, when I was coaching we had our team play in the Dykman league...good run, good for the college kids to play older heads who bang. Its a good scene there...it's just not the same though.

Hell the summer camps are dead too now. The Manhattan College camp when Fraschilla was there...the Fordham camp...just not the same.

Some of yall have a weird fixation for NYC. shyt is disgusting. Anyway, there's still NY ballers in the league, a lot playing at a high level too. It's just basketball has gotten more popular just like rap has gotten more popular and now you have people from all over the country (and world) wanting to get a piece. You can still go to a lot of hoods and get a good game, I don't get why NY is constantly singled out. What's even funnier is the NBA as a product has gotten worse over time.

Would agree it's overstated....plenty of D1 kids coming out of the city still. You cant judge it by NBA players. The CHSAA is still one of the best leagues in the country.

My Pops Forever RIP
I agree. My son goes to Catholic school and they are always looking for a handout. Luckily for his parish they have well to do members that donate quite a few dollars annually to keep their educational and sports activities afloat. I still think there is talent but the discipline isnt there anymore.

Does Riverside and Gauchos AAU still exist?
Gauchos, yes.

Riverside might as well be shut down

I don't get it either. Niqqas be leaving NYC to down down south to work two jobs and shyt. Makes no sense to me, but they got grass under their toes so I guess it makes sense.

Dog.....NONE of my homies live in NYC anymore. All of the groomsman from my wedding either live in the dc/md area or in the ATL.
