Well of course nebraska isnt as good a job as those but its probably the next unless miami opens up.

But what are we talking about here? Michigan florida miami are 3 or about the top ten jobs in the game...NE is top 15 though

I understand the quality of the different job openings but this firing, to me, has exemplified the expectations that this program has. If I were a coach I would not want to go there.

more likely to be iowa when 58-19, and 67-27 get you tossed curbside as a coach. bret beilema was 68-25 over 7 years at wisky. a couple rose bowl losses really only difference
Why would a coach now want to go to Nebraska? 9 & 10 win seasons will still get you fired and Michigan and Florida both have coach openings this year.
He's lost 4 games every year he's been there. He NEVER beats a good team. Look at his wins and tell me where he's beaten someone he wasn't supposed to. Bottom line is Pelini's program is a 4-loss treadmill behind Wisconsin, MSU, and OSU. That's not what they were and that's not what they want to be.

I'm not even going to argue about who he was supposed to beat, expectations, and etc. But firing one of the most successful CFB coaches over the past seven seasons is not going to bolster any potential future coaches confidence is all I'm saying. You go to this program and win 9 or 10 games every year and you can still get fired. Couple that with UF and Michigan both having job openings this year.........who's going to want to go there?

maybe they want to encounter other black people who are not fellow student athletes?
dont think you know this that well, but most of America is not black. Especially these college towns in the south and midwest.

On top of that, football players at major programs do not go into the community like that.

the same thing would happen at Michigan or Texas or Alabama or LSU or any other big name school. He hasn't won anything. Why shouldn't a program want to be the best? As a coach, your goal is to win championships, not 9 games.

Bama ass DC
What's more likely though, for them to all of a sudden become a powerhouse or for them to fall on their face? Notre Dame still looking for answers, USC ain't figured it out since Carroll, Florida has done what since Meyer? And these are top flight programs that people WANT to goto

What does Nebraska have over those programs now? Nothing. (Take out ND btw cause they did go to a ship game even tho they run into that bama buzzsaw :obama: ) but CFB purgatory is wack. You can get a new guy in there and he can take them to the next level or he can fail but winning 9 games a year is pointless. It's not getting you anywhere so you might as well be winning 3 games. It's not like he was going to big ten champ games. He wasn't cracking that so what's the point.

I'm not saying a program shouldn't want to be it's best, but when was the last time any of those programs fired a coach with a .700 winning percentage, having a winning season? My main point in this conversation has been the expectation that has been sent to any potential future coach with this firing. 9 or 10 win seasons will still get you fired.

Michigan fired Carr after going 9-4, a year removed from 11-2. A coach with a ring and multiple league titles.

The fukk is a recruiting radius? Planes don't exist anymore?

These "experts" always talking about how their parents being able to see them play being a big factor...

The chances of a Nebraska game being shown in Texas,Lousiana,Florida? :manny:

But the truth is..Nebraska doesn't have much to offer nowadays...

i know that black people only make up 12% or 13% of the population

but would you rather go to a school that is 5% black with urban areas in certain proximity or go to a school that is 2% black that is in bumblefukk county?

maybe i'm spoiled because i attended UAB but i can't imagine being surrounded by cacs all the time

Nebraska for one should be in the Big 12. They thought they were gonna go in the Big 10 and run things. Didnt happen

not true...their moving to the big 10 was all about the money...they wanted some of that money the big 10 brings in from research and football, they didnt give a damn about running things lol...if they did, that was gonna be a bonus....

as for him getting fired: not surprised...after he shytted on the fans, knew it was only a matter of time....cause he had already ruffled feathers and wasnt really a cornhusker guy from the beginning, so that was the last draw...the fact he had won 9 games every year was the only reason he was around as long as he was....if he wouldve won anything less, he wouldve been gone sooner...
