Is he right?

Plus the players are too kind these days. Therefore rivalries aren't around like they use to be

It's important that Luka targets Bron, Steph, and Giannis

Sunday morning-day games used to be great till up to 2010, they marketed it so well. The coverage is so bad these days, that day doesn't have a meaning anymore
Plus you never know which star gonna sit out to “rest” plus having marquee games on a Saturday night is horrible. Ain’t anyone wasting Saturday night watching nba

There was a time when TV was basically your only digital entertainment and you didn't have mad channels, or streaming for that matter.
It's a lot harder to force people to watch things today.
Then it’s a long season so non hardcore fans just watch the asg and playoffs

In this digital era people don’t even have the attention spans to watch full games now. They’ll catch highlights or the last 5 mins at best. Hell some of these new Nba nikkas don’t even watch ball…and that’s their literal job.

Back in the days nikkas would be waiting all week to catch that Sunday NBC game.

That's the NFL though, which is on an entirely different level than the NBA and other sports. Two completely different demographics as well. We on The Coli complain about how trash NBA games are these days yet you think old heads are going to pay attention to them as well :mjlol:

People didn't even fukk with Football when it was on network television on Thursdays a couple of years ago which is how Amazon got it and the NBA would fare even worse.

I don't know why you keep going on about being broadcast on other nights. NBA on NBC was predictable on the weekends. You knew if you tuned in at a certain time, there'd be a game on. Now, it's really unpredictable if there's a single game or a double header, or whatever.

So the league is thriving with this new generation of young people that don't watch the games...the demographic that mainly watches highlights on YouTube and Twitter and reposts and edits them for likes and going viral.

I think that's why Coli brehs call the league TMZ-ball.

I seen all these YouTube videos with kids watching MJ highlights. Before they start it's "LeBron is the GOAT but I heard Mike was nice." Than after a few minutes of MJ clips it's "Man I see why they said he was the GOAT. After this I change my mind."

I'm like you only watched the highlights:what:

NBA discourse is going to be terrible in the future.

I remember actually watching games on NBC every weekend. Bulls vs Knicks with Marv and the Czar of the Telestrator was must see TV. Theme song used to have me on the edge of my seat:wow:

I guarantee you if the NBA was back on NBC now, then it wouldn't have even close to the same success regardless of the day that you put it on.

For a minute it seemed NBA on NBC Sundays was almost on par with NFL Sundays, and I know it wasn't. But when I was a little jit I'd go over to my Uncle's with my Dad and we'd watch at least 2 games, usually Bulls and Lakers. They still do that for football, but haven't gotten together to watch basketball in years outside of playoffs

This weekend on NBC:

Sat 12 pm - 6 pm Eastern
Premier League soccer, track and field, horse racing (not a triple crown event)

Sun 12 pm - 6 pm Eastern

Supercross, Moto GP, Indycar

Is that supposed to change something? NBA ratings have been in decline for years now and it would more than likely still be the same case on NBC. It's not going to be as big of a deal that it use to be.

Dude's love complaining about the NBA product and how trash it is with load management and such, but think that putting it on network television is going to solve the problem. It'd just more people that will be complaining about the same things that we're complaining about now :mjlol:

Norfeast groovin…
I hear what you're saying, but the Sunday Night Football game on NBC holds the same significance that Monday Night Football on ABC used to in past era.
The marquee game of the week, on free tv.

Broadcast tv isn't quite as dead as people think.

A lot of NBA execs and even fans don’t seem to understand this. It’s one of the biggest reasons why the NFL is so successful.
