Is he right?

So do you think the reason they're doing play-in tournaments for the playoffs is because Adam Silver is trying to make more money or save money ?

How do you feel about the play-in tournament vs the traditional format breh ?

None of the parties involve want no part of reducing an 82 game schedule as that’s taking money out of everyone’s pocket. That’s why you have the play-in to make more money and also try and reduce teams tanking during the regular season. It’s not working as we all admit as it’s been a shytty past few weeks of the season with teams blatantly tanking.

The play-in format doesn’t need to be every year and only if teams are within a certain number of games. The money is coming in now, so there’s no way that they’ll get rid of it. Everyone knows what the problem is, but no one wants to take the initiative to make it happen for financial reasons. Even then, you’d still have teams doing load management even if you reduced the number of games.

The weird thing is that this would be a perfect season to find narratives, but NBA media is so focused on a handful of wack or disparaging stories that you won't get that. Even if Bron isn't playing he's the narrative, on a team that won't even make the playoffs. For much of the season it was Kyrie, or Ben Simmons. Just drama and nonsense. Consider the Giannis vs Embiid narrative. Both seeking MVP, both seeking a title, the east might go through their teams. Building that up seems like it would be important no? Or now that the Nets are "back"...a late season focus on them would have been interesting.

I feel bad for Luka because the minute Bron retires, every single ESPN/TNT/FS1/etc person is going to be burning the midnight oil looking for vapid criticisms and drama to amplify, instead of talking about basketball or competition. They let MJ skate by like a saint and then decided everyone after him must either be deemed boring (Spurs, Pistons) or torn down with a focus on the drama (Lakers/Shaq and Kobe, Bron). To the point fans got tired of all those teams or players. And then when the younger guys come up they get torn down too. KD the servant, KD the loser...until he goes to GS and becomes the bad guy. Just boring.

The NBA themselves are partly to blame for what's transpired though as they don't seem to care about the narrative of their product as they view any talk about the sport as good business. As much as people don't like Goodell, he does not tolerate the foolishness about the NFL product like the NBA does and we saw firsthand what happened when not one sports personality, but two of them from the same country talked ill will of the product.

They don't need a weeknight time slot. I didn't say anything about a weeknight slot. NBA on NBC did not do weeknights for regular season games.
I don't know why dude keeps belaboring that point when that isn't even what folks are arguing, the lack of weekend games on broadcast TV is the point, hell it was pointed out in the media when they finally decided to do triple headers last month. They need to get back to that, that's how a whole generation of fans got introduced to NBA basketball.

That’s cool and all, but it’s still the issue of load management. Putting three games on Sundays means nothing if you don’t know whose playing and will result in shytty games being aired. It will be the same problem. Just a different channel.

It was 20 years, load management didn't even become a thing until recently

That is systemic.
As they want to destroy the interest of the black grassroots player.
To make hoop'n back.
into a luxury white boi country club sport.
From the days of rupp in kentucky before the black players crushed the sport.

On some huff trash wide world of sports bs.

Like it is back in the sixties.
So they can act like bill russell never lived.

If not for cbs and then nbc.

Hoops would have stayed the same bullshyt racist garbage it was back in the day. Bob costas is correct and that trash wide world of sports abc coverage was always trash.

As they know socially the dynamic of hoops.
controls who is seen as the top dog socially in nature in america everywhere.
Where they want black grassroots player eliminated.
from their goof good ole boi club like before civil rights.

fukk abc, espn wide world of sports coverage.

Even the analyst trash on play by play. Evident by greenberg rose and stephen a garbage coverage of the game. When they had technical difficulties this weekend.

I have heard better play by play from youtube analyst.
Than those three on commentary this week.

Hoop experts my ass. I couldn't tell.

fukk abc, and their wide world of sports coverge of the nba.

shyt is trash when dr j and wilt oscar and them played and it is still trash now.
Don't believe me. Go watch the old games from start to finish and their abc coverage crom back then on tape delay too. shyt was purely defined trash then...just like now.

fukk them goofies at abc and espn.

Need to get then out the paint for this.

Plus trying to open out children to pedophilia at disney too.

fukk disney abc and espn...to tha death. shyt trash.

Wish don bluth woukd have put they trash ass outta business when he went dolo back then.
As we ain't watch shyt disney back then.
Simply cause that shyt was efeminate trash.
They definitely never knew.
Plus still do not know how to do sports, star wars or even marvel as well.

fukk abc espn and disney....shyt purely trash refuse.
