This is an interesting (dare I say) take, but I'm curious. I agree he's not a mainstream personality, but I'm saying that's because the mainstream in sports talk is heavily vested in hot take bullshyt. And that's not his lane so he has no real place at ESPN or other sports venues. If you agree he's not mainstream, where do you feel is a good fit for him?

He just needs to be independent and do video podcasts. Hell, he's already doing the pods now. And he already has enough of a following to eat good with that format and remain independent. He can jump on ESPN every now and then as a correspondent. I get that he not want to regress but it's a better fit for him than leading a tv sports show on a major network.

I said it in this thread earlier... Understand why it's off-putting for a lot of people.

He's not snarky with everyone though, that's what makes him more off-putting to some. Even listening back in the day to morning Jones, the people who he was cool with, they could have a take or ask a question that wasn't the most intriguing and he would just chuckle and pivot to something. Then someone else can do the same thing and he will get snarky. It's almost like you have to audition to get his approval

I liked Bomani's show, but I listened to it sporadically. I can see why the typical fan doesn't fukk with it though. Sometimes they get real nuanced on topics and that ain't gonna go for most out here.

With Bomani, he is not really smart when it comes to talking about the actual game, he is smart with conversations around it, etc. You just have to follow him on twitter for a few days to see how casual he is, at least with the NBA stuff he talks about.

Starting to think the only consistently good thing this guy has been involved with is the morning jones (or whatever the podcast with DJ mike hitman, stacy from brooklyn, rodimus prime and those folks was called)
Even the evening jones was kind of mid since as mentioned dude used to be on there like it was a chore to interact with his own fans
Wish these networks invested in Michael Smith or some other breh the way they keep trying to force Bomani as a thing

Wasn't really clear why he got a second season. I think execs like the idea of Bomani a bit more than fans actually support his work so I'm sure he'll land on his feet. Dan'll scoop him up or smething.

I watched a couple episodes. it was very mid. I didn't like when he tried to do skits on the street. that's not really his thing, and he shouldn't be doing a comedic monologue either IMO.

he only does that on the Evening Jones. I thought it was a one time thing at first, but when I heard him doing it on multiple shows, I checked out.

He don't do that on The Right Time or other shows. I don't know if it was some intentional shyt or not. Was real weird. That shyt aint what's hot at all
