BTW Monty Williams losing COTY to thibs is still laughably trash
It's absolutely a travesty. And I'm a Knicks fan. Thibs just raises your floor. Monty actually raised the sun's ceiling. Crazy. I don't understand how he lost that vote. Only thing I can post it to is NYK bias amongst media.

Thibodeau received 43 first-place votes and earned 351 total points to edge Phoenix head coach Monty Williams, who finished in second place with 340 points (45 first-place votes). The 11-point difference between the first- and second-place finishers marks the smallest margin since the current NBA Coach of the Year voting format was introduced in the 2002-03 season.

Ppl forgot the suns went 8-0 in the bubble. They defeated the Wizards, Mavericks, Clippers, Pacers, Heat, Thunder, 76ers and Mavericks, with five of those victories coming by double-digit margins and six of them coming against playoff teams.

Add a real PG with basketball IQ and it’s paying off.

Thecoli told me that the bubble doesn't count :yeshrug:

Cant lie they're impressive

Crazy thing is, Portland had the roster to do the same thing to a hobbled Nuggets team, it’s a shame that bad coaching got in the way. Nuggets had no business beating a fully healthy Portland team. 2nd round should’ve been Dame versus Booker and CP3

:to:

No Portland had the backcourt to beat this hobbled Nuggets team. But they didn't have the team that Phoenix has. Suns are getting contributions from everyone on the team. If anything, this exposed how weak Portland's roster is outside of Dame and CJ.

It came down to them not being able to get stops. Offensively they were fine.

I mean that would be even less enjoyable IMO. For the most part, we’ve seen second round Dame’s legs give out time and time again. Dude just expends too much to really ever have success by that point…hell we saw it in the last game of last series. And those other dudes suck. Denver has enough offensive volatility to put together a fluke win at home, Portland really didn’t and doesn’t

Idk when votes actually go in, but with the Blazers having two guys who got their own pushes for MVP at a stretch in time, I’m guessing that some voters attributed the success to their players more than his system

obv wasn’t a huge margin, but Thibs is one of those remaining coaches that generally gets comparable amounts of credit for team success as his best guys.

how different you guys think this series would be with Murray out there?

The nuggets guard play is awful right now. Replace that with one of the leagues most dynamic perimeter players with the most elite of skillsets who gets better in these situations and I’d have a hard seeing this go more than 6 for Denver:yeshrug:
