Phoenix just ROUTED Denver. That was brutal, they played with less effort than Lakers. At some point Denver were just shooting three after three with no gameplan, Malone is overrated coach sort of like Doc Rivers.

It's absolutely a travesty. And I'm a Knicks fan. Thibs just raises your floor. Monty actually raised the sun's ceiling. Crazy. I don't understand how he lost that vote. Only thing I can post it to is NYK bias amongst media.

Thibodeau received 43 first-place votes and earned 351 total points to edge Phoenix head coach Monty Williams, who finished in second place with 340 points (45 first-place votes). The 11-point difference between the first- and second-place finishers marks the smallest margin since the current NBA Coach of the Year voting format was introduced in the 2002-03 season.

Nah thibs earned that, the Knicks talent level compared to the suns is laughable

i'da voted for Thib :manny:
like someone said...who on the Knicks is starting on Phx? Randle? Who else.
Exactly.

Nobody is surprised the Suns are this good. We saw the impact Paul had on OKC. Why would the Suns have been any different

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Got our ass whipped in Phoenix

It will be a sweep if we don’t play better in Denver—Malone done called the team soft after game 1 and after game 2 he said they quit, and that’s all well deserved because that’s what I’m seeing

It’s fukking embarrassing

Injuries aside, Phoenix is playing like the team with all the playoff experience—maybe that’s the value in having a CP3 and Crowder

Phoenix’s young guys are hungry and they are playing inspired ball

I’ve been super impressed with Book and his poise and patience

Maybe we’re just trying to get down 1-3 first :snoop:

I don't see the point of Malone continuing to play Facu this many minutes. He is what people clown Lonzo for being minus the elite defense. Play Shaq for some defense, at least that Mf cuts

:picard: @ Denver playing MPJ with his back history. I don't remember when but one of the times he went to the FT line in the 2nd half you could see the pain in that boys eyes as he just stood there waiting. He was playing like a less mobile Millsap tonight

The team quit after the first quarter for sure but Malone does not help issues at all. You remember in the team thread when I said I wanted Jokic to sit a game so Malone's non set-calling ass got exposed? Here we are. Without Mal/Jok 1-5 PnR opening up the floor the Nuggets are just four dudes standing around waiting for Jokic to make shyt happen for them. All in all I think these two ass whoopings are good for the long term. Lets them see the holes that need to be patched for the run next season

Side note: What was the point of trading Hartenstein and a 2nd rounder for McGee just to play him in garbage time?

Denver aint great defensively and if you can stifle them on the offensive side... yeah.

If MPJs back is a problem going forward it's a sweep. Suns are content letting the Joker score because no one else on the team can hit shots or do much of anything offensively

Amazing how much the Suns improved over one season

It really started 2 years ago when James Jones took over and hired Monty. Last years record is deceptive because Ayton was suspended 25 games and there were some injury issues with key players. It was just too late to get it together, then Covid ended the season.

Even with the setbacks, you could see players improvements. Ayton went from a terrible defender his rookie year to a respectable defender his 1st year with Monty. Booker had the best regular season of his career (better than this year) with Monty in year 1.

The covid break was basically a whole new offseason and when the Suns entered the bubble, everyone improved. Saric found a new role as a backup center. Cam Payne revived his career. Cam Johnson was playing beyond expectations. Mikal Bridges turned into one of the best defenders in the bubble. Booker was on fire. The bubble is where they really started coming together as a team.

After the Suns went 8-0 in the bubble, they got a lot of respect from their peers. There were reports in the offseason about Chris Paul making calls to push for a trade to Phoenix. Booker was pushing for the trade too. Obviously Chris Paul joining the team helped take them to another level.

Yeah, Facu is getting way too many minutes but Malone likes that we are underdogs and feisty rah rah nonsense. I’ve been saying this for the past two years that the entire nuggets offense was Jokic/Murray do something and once that was stopped they couldn’t score. MPJ needed to be pulled you could tell his back was preventing him from being productive in the first quarter. The bubble was the worst thing to happen to the nuggets because Malone is being giving more time with championship caliber talent that he is going to waste for at least two more years. The trade for McGee was pointless because Malone won’t stop playing Milsap, who is out there just running around like he is in a roller derby contest based on how many people he is running into and how many times he falls.

I seen so many tweets about Malone leveling up in the playoffs because the Nuggets beat the Blazers and its just :dwillhuh: because of the lack of adjustments by him in that series. I'll reserve judgement for how he approaches game 3 since its the first time he's been down 0-2. If he starts and plays Facu over 25+ minutes while hes getting btfo'd on both ends then :hubie:

What’s up with MPJ’s back? :lupe: I missed parts of the game dealing with fam stuff before I just decided to cut it off because it was clear it wasn’t the Nuggets’ night.
