Animation for 1 episode can cost between 250-and 500thousand and thats just for the animation.

Even if that was the case that's a drop in the bucket for a network/studio.

One episode of Veronica Mars cost $1.8 million to produce, $150-250,000 is nothing in terms of Television.

A little over a month old but not sure many of you knew about this was not on here

Its a shame when we as Black folks get things like these we either drop the ball or do not go into it hard enough. Aaron should have just been like South Park and kept on releasing multiple episodes every year that address pop culture and society to see if it ignites a change. Particularly with Obama and drug war.

man, I think the production cost are high for this show. south park is made by computers and matt and tre have their own studios to pump out episodes in a week's time.

the boondocks is drawn by hand overseas, and most of the voice cast are prominent black working actors and have plenty of work to do besides boondocks, which is probably a low paying gig.

not all studios/networks are equal brah. plus your talking about a live action tv show.

Theirs more reasons then just financial reasons on why the boondocks is moving at a snails pace brah.

Y'all complain way too much. Be thankful we're even getting a fourth season. I'm ok with 45 esp. As someone said if they went the South Park route it would of got tired. Look how average season three was.

I understand what your saying but he couldn't have at least made a better balance?

Think about what i am saying for a second breh......

We have had 45 episodes in 8 years..........

we have had 45 episodes in 8 years..........

8 years.......

You don't see something wrong with that?
No excuse for 45 episodes

Cosign. No excuse for 45 episodes in 8 years when you shows on the same network like Robot Chicken with 143 episodes in the same time period. The animation takes time excuse doesn't hold water. There are plenty of episodes that would have written themselves during the Obama Administration that Boondocks has totally ignored. I understand McGruder wants total control over his product but dude blew it with the way he's handled this. He could have easily hired a staff of writers in his same mindset to come up with random stories to carry the show though the years like South Park / Family Guy. Every episode doesn't have to have some spiritual meaning with black folks. Some of us just like seeing those characters in regular situations without it having to change the world somehow...

But the thing is it's up to no one but him. He could say "just kidding" tomorrow and not one opinion would matter. It also gives him time to not burn out or oversaturate with something he loves and has spent years crafting before it even reached television.

Let that man cook, in peace, without all the sociology/racial nonsense

It's 2013 and no one wants to wait for ANYTHING, then, want to complain when things get stale and boring and repetitive

after seeing a repeat of the catcher freeman episode recently I was wondering if they should have a similar episode where they go back to the past and see the whole "Thomas Jefferson Sally Hemings situation...."

do you remember that faceless black girl who was the friend to the crazy kung fu bytch that Robert(huey and Riley's grandfather) dated? the one who blew herself up after tying up tom?

have someone like her in that time who parodies the hypocrisy of black women who complain about white women and black men but have nothing to say when its vice versa

Man January is around the same time Black Dynamite season 2 is suppose to air as well.... It will be amazing TV if they put them on as an hour block.

Also Boondocks isn't the only Adultswim show that is late as fukk between seasons. Look at the Venture Brothers as well.
